View Full Version : Decent summoner build?

Well, I was planning on using a build with these skills:

20 skel mastery
20 skel summon
20 skel mage summon
20 revive
20 summon resistance

I'd have just enough str for equips
no dex.
the rest of my points into vit
not sure how much int.

So could you please tell me if I could make a decent necro with these skills, and I'd also like to know how much int I should have. thanks.

uhm you don't need 20 points into revive and summon resist. If you'll notice, the diff between lvl 12 summon resist and lvl 20 summon resist is 6%. Not much, and not worth the extra 8 skill points.

Most people put one point into summon resist and revive, because with enough +to skills items, you usually get high lvls of those skills anyway. Not that you need lvl 20 of those skills. Especially since multiple points into revive doesn't raise their damage or life.

Most people put 20 points into Raise skeleton, Skeleton Mastery, and Skeleton Mage. 1 into revive, summon resist, and the curses on the right side of the curse tree. Then, they also put 20 points into corpse explosion, to get some extra damage output. Then they put their final 20 points into whatever, maybe golem mastery. And 1 point into the golem of their choice. Clay golems slow other monsters, iron golems can give off an extra aura, fire golems tank well and distract monsters. No golem does a lot of damage, so those are the only reasons to use those three golems. You'll have 111 skill points to spend by lvl 99.

The story might be different if you're going untwinked.

If you're going full summon like what you posted, you wouldn't need to spend any points into energy. The basic mana you get from leveling will be enough. I assume your build would work though, so long as you put 1 point into those 7 curses I mentioned.

Like the guy said, put only 1 into Summon Resist/Revive because your Skills will take over, since Skels don't suffer the -100 penalty for Hell summon resist is kinda overrated anyway.

Str for Equips, for Dex I'd say go Max Block screw Vit use Homo for best block

Rest into Vit, no energy get Frosties if you need mana and suck down those blues

First max Skel and Mastery, then max CE, then pump rest into DV and maybe like 4-5 more into Revive if you want, put some in Amp too if you want bigger radius but +skills should be enough.

Believe me DV is worth the points once you cast on souls in Baal runs you watch the others take them down like the little wusses they are :)

PLEASE don't put 20 in summon resist, put a couple into corpse explode, 1 into poison dagger (for the glitch, good for equipping cb stuff...gives you great ar for FREE...can be explained more in depth in fishymancer guide)

there is no poison dagger glitch anymore i dont think....
