Frenzy Barb Questions

Hey i just made a Frenzy barb today and he is now lvl 67

What weapons should i go with ??
and Axe or Sword ??

Do i need to put stat in dex ?

And should i go with Ironskin/Shout or Taunt/WarCry ??

This is for general PVM

You only need dex if you're going to use swords. I don't think it matters which you use, swords or axes. Different rune words go with different weapons. If you choose swords, you can make a fast grief phaseblade sword, if you go axe, you can make a beast zerker axe. You decide what you like. Maybe try both weapon types and save a few skill points on your barb for when you decide which weapon mastery to use. I would go with taunt, since it increases your frenzy damage. As a frenzy barb, you won't need that much defense. Especially for PvM.

1.) IMO axes do betetr damage and good all round, plus you can have better/more options as ebotdz/beastz/edeathz/griefz

2.) if axes, base dex is easy....for PB dex is crazily high :smiley: basically enough for gear...

3)tsaunt/war cry-frenziers focus on dmg and crowd control, not being tanks

Axes are open to more runeword types, not that you need to use them all.

Grief's damage is all +raw damage and not %based, except the damage to demons. I think the 15 extra damage done by a zerker axe in this formula is more than worth the extra speed given by the phase blade.

You can get plenty of str and dex from items. And the amount of points spent in dex, I think, are worth it to get the benefits of pb. Indestructable and extra fast attack.

If you could upgrade an etheral dimensional blade to an etheral phase blade, then the grief phase blade would get the extra 15 damage that the grief zerker axe has, but you would get the speed and indestrucablility of the pb. Not sure if you can do that with the dimensional blade, though.

cant upgrade non unique tiems/non rare ^^
grief damage isn't that different between PB and BA but for % based wepons (most of them) it matters...
ebotdz and edeathz are best frenzy combo....both ethereal so wont require repairing and massive damage :smiley:

ive decided to go with eBotD/eDeath Zerks

War Cry (stun skill) how many points if any at alll ?

And Taunt i keep seeing ppl talking good about this skill but i cant see any effectiveness with it since frenzy is all offense why stop at taunt single targets when i can just run up to them and stun ??

still not sure if this frenzy barb will make up for the weapon cost tho ..
i gave him my WWs Eq and he wasnt even near him in dmg =)
and i also got disapointed with the duration of frw of frenzy =)

anyway keep reply and convince me Frenzy barb is worth the cost of eq ;)

my frenzier has much faster killing speed than my ww'er :smiley:
taunt is useful as a ynergy and the fact that if there are annoying ranged attackewrs (such as gloams or oblic kinghts) you can get them to stop attacking and coime to papa :grin:
never used warcry myself, just use taunt, the occasional howl (mainly at nilathak) and wade through things....
jusrt make sure you hit last frenzy break point with your edeath and ebotd zerkers....

I liked it with Beast and Death.
cost so much money to fix it tho...(seriously, Sup items are not good...*sniff*)
I seriously recommend death. unbreakable, crushing + deadly and high ED.
Beast helps with IAS and AR...and a bit of ED :)
Both are avail with axe, and unless you are going for 1 skill point in berserk, I recommend Famine. Its fun.
PS War Cry? 1 skill is enough. you never do good dmg with this so just using it for stun = 1 sk.
