i think souldrainers are a great option....dont benefit from life tap from dracs, ias from LoH, and strength req. for 'rends is stupidly high
has dual leach, weaken, and the -enemy defense per hit...grand gloves IMO

Use a dual leech ring instead of souldrainers. For pvm, you should be wearing LOH gloves most of the time. Another good spot to get mana leech without much trouble is to use wilhem's dual leech belt.
You could use crescent moon amulet, but then you lose the deadly strike from highlords and that sux :)

^^ and if you switch belt, you lose DR% (im assuming you wear dungo's/SoE)
why do LoH have to be worn always in pvm? they provide very little except 350% dmg to demons to ww....no ias bonus...whereas ring can rpovide 20 dex and a ton of AR (or slain monsters rest in peace which is useful )

DR is insignificant if you deal 6000 damage and leech 20% of that, meaning you leech 1200 life.

LoH is good because all of the boss monsters and a huge partition of the rest are demons. And that 350% damage is not "except", it's about half of your +damage% anyways, so you can effectively do huge amounts of damage.
The dexterity and the ar bonus are pretty useless since you can do PvM with 6k AR which is easily reached even with a single raven or without.
Overall, LoH are simply the best PvM gloves for any barbarian. Or well, some prefer Souldrainers or the like, but even so, LoH is plain superior.

True if:
1. Enemy has 0% DR (which in hell is virtually never, usually 50% DR)
2. Enemy has 100% Drain Effectiveness (which is virtually never, average is 60% DE)
Going by those % examples above...
6000 x.5 (DR) = 3000 x.6 (DE) = 1800 x.2 (Leech) = 360 life

True, true. However, there are only a few opponents capable of doing huge physical damage and even most of those are bugged, such as the Tomb Vipers. I've never had any trouble in any areas of Hell with most of my characters, most of which have had under 30% DR, most notably a hammerdin with a plain 10% DR from Shako and no Enigma. Or my zealot with 8% total since he is not using a Shako, only an Enigma. My only PvM character with higher DR is my travi wolf with 43% due to Enigma + SS.
What I'm trying to get to is that most of the threatening damage is either bugged (such as the Tomb Vipers), making DR% useless instead of +DR or elemental.
Could someone explain how soul drainers are as good as dracs for a wwer?
Open Wounds...remember that thing?
statement from arreat summit
Life/Mana Stealing
Are cut in 1/2 in Nightmare.
Life/Mana Stealing
Are cut 2/3 in Hell.
Well that's always been true...doesn't mean you should ditch life leech. If you're using angelic set, you get mana from that, you're good there.
Secondly, does life tap not cast on ww? If so, that sucks...but I still think dracs destroy soul drainers with higher ll, strength, ow...

If you use 7/7 drainers and arreat's in a grief/beast setup your leeching needs will be covered, believe me. I would personally use a mana leech ring and some decent blood crafted gloves though. You need not bother too much really, about anything will work.It all depends whether you want to have mf,gf,resists or damage mods.
