First pala what went wrong?

Ok i made my first ever pala acording to the 1pt smite guide and ive been using zeal to try n clear some of the quests in hell.

I'm currently level 70 and am using stormshield, botd ba and enigma 1400 def.

With this gear i do only 4k dammage and have only 6k defence :(

Anyone know where I'v gone wrong? I was kinda expecting 20k+ def and atleast 6k dmg.

My barb does over 6k dmg with a botd with just 1 pt into berzerk.

So how can I do more dammage? I know death or grief or something might do slightly more dmg but surely it wont be alot more ive seen alot of pala's doing like 10k + dmg... how? also how do i kill physical imunes?

get a grief pb, they're monsternuts.

fort/CoH would probably be better than nigma, and do you have HS maxed?

yeh just finished maxxing HS, and want enigma for tele as mainly for key runs etc.

Even if i got a grief surely it wld only add a little dmg? i cant see it adding 1000's

Also just checked the stats on grief and cant see how it is any better than my botd? same kinda dammage only grief has no leech and botd is 60%ias and grief is 30%.

The added damage from grief 350- 400* does not show up on your damage and is hidden.

So really instead of doin somthin like 3k - 8k zeal with a ebotdz you would be doin 7k-7k zeal and would add damage to your smite with a grief phase blade. This means that grief has superior average and min damage to ebotdz.

Your grief phase blade is also 60% ias 30+ ias from the grief and another -30% ias from the base speed of the phase blade.

I thought base weapon speed and IAS are different for a zealot. Though, you will hit max zeal + smite speed with grief PB as long as fana is on. Anyways, 6k def does seem a little low, since my pally using HoZ + duress already gets over 10k.

for PIs, one point vengeance or carry an elemental damage weapon in your inventory...lightning and fire small charms work very well too..

with 1400defense armor, stormshield and maxed HS, you can easily get 10K+ defense...try stone/fortitude or maybe CoH or an exceptional unique armor and find a teleport amulet (it can be found by gamble easily)...IMO, i don't think enigma is a good choice for zealot...you can find a teleport amulet with +skills or MF or all resistances 20+..

are you sure you are not switching to a shieldless setup after you cast HS??

For pi/im a lawbringer war scepter or a passion berserker axe/war spike are better options than 1pt vengeance imo.

If your BotD is ethereal, it should be a fine choice... I use one on a zeal/smite hybrid, and it rocks... Grief is far better, but BotD is nothing to scoff at...

Enigma is a horrible choice for a zealer... CoH, or Fort would be my or anyone's first pick, I think...

Passion or Azsurewrath are my choices for dealing with PI's... If I'm dealing with OKs in Chaos Sanctuary, the Passion it is... In fact, Passion is my favorite all around...
