View Full Version : Dreamadin info
I am using a dream helm and also a doom zerk. Do I have to put a skill point into holy freeze and holy shock to be able to use conviction? Or does that screw things up?
Right now I did all the pre reqs up to holy freeze, but when I wear my dream helm and use my doom zerk, that skill points don't show up in my skill chart and I can't get conviction. I don't want to screw my character up.
Thanks for your help.

Max Resist cold to synergise holy freeze
Max Resist lightning to synergise holy shock
10-max Conviction to hit slvl 25 Conviction
Max Holyshield
Zeal for attack
Are u using dream pally shield as well? Maybe use duress for armor? Putting a point into holyfreeze or holy shock does not screw this type of auradin - but anymore than a point is a waste. Hope i helped ^^

look for some guides about auradin's. All the info is in there.

Yes Holy Freeze is a prerequisite to Conviction. Just look at the little paths with arrows on the skill tree. 1 point in it to get to Conviction.
Holy Shock is not a prerequisite to anything. Putting a point here is wasteful (i.e. do not put a point into Holy Shock).
You might want to place a point in Salvation too. It's a useful skill on its own, and more points can be placed here for more Dream/Doom aura damage.
Place Conviction on the right mouse button side, and Zeal on the left mouse button side. Assign hotkeys too if you want too, you can assign them to both sides.

my quick take on the runeword auradins:
Dreamer: Dual Dream Helm/Sheil other items slots will vary (and there is a guide in the stickys on this one)
Max resist Light
Max Salvation
Max Holy Sheild
5 or so into Zeal
15 into Conviction
(not in that order, Conviction once becomes avalible go for it)
Doom Dreamer: Dual Dream with Doom Wep
Max resits light
Max resist cold
10+ salvation
10+ Conviction
1-5 Zeal
rest Holy sheild
Dragon Dreamer: Dual Dreams with Hoj wep and Dragon armor ( i own one of these bad boys though i messed up on build since i thought he was going to be just a dreamer)
Max Resist light
Max resist Fire
10+ salvation
10+ conviction
1-5 Zeal
Rest holy sheild
(with this build i used vengence and i can basically 1-2 hit anything in hell but with no real IAS and my frost merc not at a high lvl, and with haveing 4 slots full of not big resits gear, resist all come into play in hell and with1 pt into holy shield i find it difficulty to survive, i can get 3-4 hited by balrogs in CS, but i can kill just got to run in circles sometimes)
The Doommed Dragon of Dreams: ( just made that up sorta corny but eh)
Were talking Doom Wep, here u can either Dragon armor/Shield or Dream Helm/shield, meaning makeing up ur mind on the sheild slot. (personally dream sheild in a nice pally sheild with a good roll were talking 75% all resist perf) IE: this is a build i have yet to see so bare with me.
Max Resist Cold/Fire/Light
10+ Conviction
1-5 zeal
1+ salvation
(save all skill quest points for about lvl 60 then use them all for holysheild)
I think here u can go either 10/10/10 with the single resits then rest into salvation since all get the bonuses..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With all these builds are heavy on equ and will require time to perfect, with the use of any of the combat skills, zeal/vengence/charge/smite?, though there isnt much room for any synergys for those skills like sacrifice for zeal. There to me are more flexible of the builds, since u can go any way with combat, or single resits/salvation.... and back to equ is a big factor since ur going to need a ton of IAS to make BP if thats what u want, im not going to get into gear since there are guides on this in the sicky, but if anyone wants me to i can, if anyone even likes this post.
All the builds can be either Pvp or Pvm once again depending on the combat skill.
(ill add more once or if and feedback comes, but writing this before i have to start work) thanks
EDIT: within 5 secs allready editing i know i left out the (doomed dragon build) and a bunch of build ustlizing a merc with a aura also...ill get to that later

You missed the most effective aura build IMO. I dueled a firedin last night and he owned my dreamer. Although my dreamer isn't pvp and he was pvp, he still beat me severely. Triple Holy Fire aura equals lvl 44 Holy Fire and with Conviction that adds up to a high damage. Auradin's have dual dream/hoj/dragon, but can't afford to max salavation unless they sacrifice something else. I have experience with all those builds (expect doom variant) and I can recommend dreamer for pvm and firedin for pvp. A dual auradin is nice, but it lacks killing speed and other usefull things you seek in a good pvper/pvmer.

Yup i knew i was forgetting something, its the basic fire varaint of a dreamer but ur getting 3 runewords insted of 2, with HoJ Dragon shield/Armor so as LUDA said thats lvl 44 holy fire, and i can image that would hurt pvp... and thats all stacked. Though FI in hell must be a pain.. but yeah
Max Resist fire
Max salvation
10+conviction
1-5 zeal
MAx Holy Shield
rest into whatever u want
I have experience with all those builds (expect doom variant) and I can recommend dreamer for pvm and firedin for pvp.
In terms of PvP - single element builds are easy to negate. Pure Torchadin is nothing special in PvP. In PvP, Dreamdin > Torchadin hands down with equal skill/wealth, simply because of Armor/Weapon liberty.
I duel with dual Auradin (as main) in PvP - which converts into Dreamer when DR is necessary. Dual elements are harder to stack against for some characters which makes it superior for some duels. This is actually dueling and not attempting a lame aurakill.

torchadin > dreamer in duels. Trust me.
torchadin > dreamer in duels. Trust me.
-.-
I'm not getting into a argument, but the open armor/wep slot is superior in almost every way. The only thing that the Torch has going for him is an open helm slot (which should be CoA straight up; unless you really need stack). With equal dueling skills the wep/armor open comes out on top - many combos are very, very powerful - so much moreso than HoJ/Dragon.
Pure elements are easy to stack out - at least Dreamer can still inflict damage at that point without swapping...
I duel with an Auradin - never been beaten by another of any variety (Torch, Dream, FoH hybrid, Dual, among others).
