View Full Version : Help Me Choose a Good PvP Character
So I feel it's time for me to make a godly, "1337" PvPer :azn:
Now there are many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, etc.; builds in the world of Diablo II. I wanna find the "perfect" one. I was maybe thinking of something like a Smiter or FoHer. But anything could work.
Can you guys help me on choosing one? I just want one that is capable of taking down just about everything. A link to a guide is appreciated or tell me the skills to max and shortly the gear to max.
Thanks!

lol @ you thinking smiter or foher is perfect. but they can both make very good pvp chars.
Check out camden's smiter guide in the pvp guides sticky. A good Smiter is a trouble for most.

FoHer - no because people will stack and it's weak to any paladin with resist aura/stack, windies, boners, and bowazons.
Hdin works well in pubs. Check out Korean's guide. :P

BoneNec is the best.
Read mine or Xombies Guide.

Cleric. :wink3:
Or what Mystic or Dennis said, especially in terms of a foh-er which can be negated without too much trouble by some builds. Hybrids can be pretty fun and effective if you've got the gear, why not go the route of a T/V and combine foh-er and smiter?

With an open mind its best to rember not let your brain fall out :)

Im trying to find the Sword Zon guide i saw, it was very crazy.
The last thing people usualy expect out of a sorceress, is a Crazy fast 5 hit zeal, as for barbs, who'd expect them to drop the emelental Hammer on you?

Those tend to not work out so well...
Imo druids are the best char to learn on. Basic telestomp/nado is easy to learn in pubs, and as you get better and pick up new tricks and whatnot you can stick with a druid and become awesome or apply it to new chars.

BoneNec, WWsin, BvC and Windy are the only PvP chars that actually require skill to use....Maybe Hdin.
As Camden said, you can use one strategy with lots of chars.
Ofc feel free to try Smiter or FoH, but If you want a challenge try the builds I mentioned.

Let me first be a meanie and tell you that nothing that is perfect will never, ever exist. That is just how powerful of a word it is. It's like the word "godlike", which has the same property.
Secondly, let me be a meanie again and tell you that Diablo II PvP consists of Skill, Gear, Luck and Character Class. So, you cannot make a build and just assume that it beats everyone. There is no class that has a natural class advantage against everything. Now, if you eliminate the "random" factors of Character Class and Gear, both of which do not take active place in a duel, you end up with Skill and Luck. That is what PvP is all about. You just cannot go ahead, make a build and assume that you will beat 98% of the people. Don't ever even dream about something like that.

There are a ton of builds that are capable of taking down the majority of PvP characters, but that usually requires superiority in two of the non-active factors along with equality or superiority in the active factors. Sorry, but a build that you can play with zero brains and beat 98% of the people does not exist.
So, by the way, how the hell do you "max the gear"?
definetly not foh or a smiter..
foh gets beat down by windies, or anything that can stack and absorb, however it can beat like 60% of pubs due to unprepared/noobs in a pub.
smiter usually dies to hammer, barb, windy, bone nec.
hence why BvC, hammer, ww/trapper, bone nec are some of the top cookiecutter pub builds as these dominate most chars
however if u mentioned foh, hybrids these can make tough pub-killing builds, i.e V/T (Smite/foh) or T/V (foh//smite) and Mage (Hammer/foh)

Why do you think I put perfect in quotes?? Why do you think I put 1337 in quotes?
Case closed
EDIT: I didn't read the last part. Why do you have to go around making fun of people O_o Yeah maybe I acidently typed "max" but is that a problem?? You don't see anyone else who responded here put me down with the "perfect" and my little typing mistake.

Heh, I'll have to show you my zealsin sometime when I'm done rebuilding, you'd get a kick out of it Legion (zealsorc vs. zealsin?). Granted builds like that don't always 'work out,' they're a ton of fun. Besides, I think once you get to the point of not playing a build unless it's a godly, 1337 PvPer, the fun of dueling is kind of lost. So try and keep that in mind OwNeD whatever you do settle on.
Why do you think I put perfect in quotes?? Why do you think I put 1337 in quotes?
Because you like them, the quotation marks that is?

Because I'm a straight-forward and honest person, in other words a hellish meanie.
I didn't put you down about anything, I just noticed you of those little details. Is that bad?

... There is no such thing as a perfect thing. Everything has flaws... I put the quotes showing that I don't actually mean it but in your opinion something that's "perfect" meaning good and it works...
You kind of did put me down. Everyone else just ignored my mistake but you're trying to make something bad out of it I'm guessing? I'm sure you've made plenty of mistakes especially typing. Everyone makes mistakes, haven't you learned? That's no reason to be mean to someone because I was thinking of "maxing skills" and I just typed "maxing skills". And "max" gets in my head...
I'm just saying you shouldn't spam in other people's posts when they pretty much know NOTHING is perfect everything has flaws. Even people like you have flaws surprising? Not really...
I demand you to leave my world you hellish demon

Again when I mean "1337" I just mean capable of being able to take on most other characters. MOST not all and being godly. I just want a good PvPer is that too much to ask for??? :undecided:
OKAY
I've narrowed it down to WW Barb, Boner, Smiter, and possibly Windy. If you put them in order from your favorite that could do well in duels, what would it be? I still need some help deciding lol.

1.BoneNec
2.Windy
3.WW Barb (trapper/ww sin is much better)
4.Smiter
Lol that also the order of how hard the itmes are to get for the chars.

Really, BoneNec's items would be easiest? I read your guide and it seems expensive (to me) or maybe that's just me cause I'm a newb
Right now, leaning towards Windy, Barb, or Trapsin... How much would that helm you recommended in your guide cost?? For BoneNec
