Most people use wind druids as a dueler, but if your looking for a more off the wall build, you could always make a fireclaw bear or a fury werewolf druid. The stickies at the top of the page gives lots of links to helpful guides you might like.
(If I were you, go with the wolf, I've had a fury wolf and a wind druid last ladder, the wolves are much more fun )
Ok sounds good but are these builds going to suck for res stackers / sorbers? Hate playing against them...just want to...KILL

The druid you fought was a windy druid. 80% of the druids you find on b.net are windys.
It's a strong build, but most of the people playing them don't know how to.
If you want to go melee theres the pure fury or fury/rabies druid. Generally if anyone is a melee druid it's a fury wolf of some sort.
There's also a fireclaw bear druid which hardly no one plays, but in my opinion just as strong as any fury wolf just limited to one elemental damage for attack.
If you search this forum theres also a flaming rabies guide that uses both rabies and fireclaws as its main attacks in wolf form.
Those last 3 are the most viable melee options, I dont know what your definition of "gg pvp char" is, but if its a smiter or any paladin then these builds aren't that, but they are completely viable and in my opinion more fun.

One of the nifty things about wind druids are that their main attack (tornado) does physical damage. People can reduce physical damage by putting on dr gear up to reducing your damage by 50%, but they can't absorb it or stack it beyond 50.
Edit: Heres a wind guide- http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=238126
