Blizz/ES Question: How much Cold mastery?

Since its a Blizz ES build, how much -%resist should I aim for with mastery and facets?

I have lots of facets and also a fathom and a nightwing and a blizz ormus. Skill points will be at a premium with max ES and telekinesis...

Should I still max CM? I'm thinking ~-200% total should be ok. If people overstack and double raven me I'll just find a new game (wink).

Any thoughts from someone who made a blizzer before? I've made orbers but never blizz pvp.

(any thoughts on fhr fcr breakpoints to shoot for would be appreciated as well)

First off, this is a pre-buff character. You don't want to spend 20 in ES, plus its pre-req's. Get a 9es staff and prebuff it.

The hard part about this build for us on west is getting high life/mana. I think the dupes/bugged items on east are what made this build popular.

Having said that I built one on west. 8k blizz with maxed mastery. It hits the 65 fcr bp and has 1200ish life 3k mana. I also have max block with whistans. Es level is dependant on how far you want to go with pre-puff. ie lite circ/ammy/gc's/es ormus.....

I don't really play mine much, because I got sick of pre-buffing.

105%fcr is almost required for teleport.... to achieve this with fathom/nightwings, spirit is almost a must and therefore no max block.

Hmm. I've personally seen how horribly spirit sorcs die to meele.

I love dueling them with my charger or my bvc. One whirl = deeds

105 is possible w/o spirit, but I 'd have to give up sojs and frosties and use fcr ammy.

Lots to lose.

Anyone try blizz without using ES? Some kind of max dr/ max block stormshield sorc?

I couldn't comment on whether vita build > es. I haven't got a vita blizz. I'm just trying to point out that its very difficult to get good life/mana. My 1.2k/3k came from have all life/mana sc's with life + mana > 30 and 5 30+ life skillers. The other 4 were fhr skillers.

Wow.

I'm not that decked with small charms. I have some cold lifers, but most are 15-20 range.

Like 2 life mana sc and the rest vita only.

I'm warming to the idea of prebuff Memory. Its not like trechery prebuff since ES lasts like 2 days per cast. Only would take a second to waypoint to Dry Hills and cast it.



Can my max block (whistans or visc) Blizz/ES work? Or am I wasting my time with this unless I have gg life/mana small charms?

Another problem is what fcr to go for. With fathom/whistans/nightwing/ormus/spider [60% fcr], that leaves 2 rings, gloves and ammy open. 63% fcr is easy, but 105 is not really viable. Do you really need 105?

I see a few options for 63%bp:

#1 frosties for mana, 10 fcr ammy and 2 soj rings. Loss: not much <---leaning this way

#2 magefist for 80 fcr. Then go 2 sojs for skill and mana, nice ammy

Are Frosties the only way to go? I think so...40% boost to mana...mmm

For 105 I'd need magefist, 2 fcr rings and a 10% fcr ammy or

magef fcr, soj and a 20% fcr ammy (hard to find?)

How about
fathom (20)
Ormus (20)
3cold/20fcr circ
arach (20)
2/15+ cold or sorc ammy (15)
soj
fcr ring

with the soj replaced with another fcr ring if your ammy is only 5 fcr.
a 2cold/5fcr ammy is easy to come by and works just about as well as a 2 sorc/10fcr for this build. Alternatively, 3 cold/10fcr and an fcr instead of soj.
