Looks like Kaython has been hard at work theorycrafting a build to beat barbs with, after his anti-barb Hammerdin didn't pan out too well on USWest:

Back to the current topic; debunking yet another sad myth this kid has crafted, that a WW/Trap sin can beat a Barb.

Problem is...

On the realms, no prebuff, no limb.

Fantasy item crafting works pretty well for a barb too...

And that's ignoring the kind of def the barb would get from an ebug enigma + ebug arreats + upped gores, probably around 20k.

So tell me, how ARE you going to beat a barb that has:


10 Frame Teleport
70% Block
20k Defense
14k AR before limb
5200 average physical damage per hit
90% Light res
85% Poison res


Once again you've failed to realise how flexible barbs are.

Kaython uses map hack which is allowed on the realm he plays-d2pk.
For me mh there is just annoying to use for duels as it overburdens the screen. It doesn't do anything more but showing hammer fields and stuff like that ,but it doesn't have aa or anything of the sort.

The vector's displayed in the background are telling me where the quest(Den of Evil) and the next level is. It's called maphack, and it is allowed on the realm I play on, even provided. Why was it on? I was rushing a newcomer to the realm.

And how do I beat a barb with those stats? An Autowin, because you're bming.

On screen damage, you wouldn't have such damage on a plain glitched grief(1200-4900) unless he's using something like level 99 ww, ed on charms. -_-;

well it doesnt matter, cuz you got flawlessed 3 times... Well you lose, you lose... don't make excuses like pubs saying something like "oh this is my crap hammerdin", "oh you are bm..." BTW there is no auto win... you are not in a competition with rules... the guys was saying that bvc is a very flexibility class and a good bvc certainly won't be totally "OWNED" by a ww/trap sin.

Learn. Chance to do double damage at lvl 96 with that gear: 60.78%. His average damage is 3193. 3193 * 1.6078 = 5233.7054.

- Slow Missile allowed
Hotspurs are allowed

PALADIN SPECIFIC RULES:

- Using a Resistance Aura Counts as a Sorb Item.
- Cleansing Meditation and Prayer are allowed
- No Holy Bolt usage (auto loss of round)

yeah only 2/3 of all hits will do that dmg . calculated separately for each hitcheck, in worst case scenario he will hit you with his displayed dmg several times in a row, but than again he mught hit you all the times with that 5.2k ... I all cases over several ww's he will hit you 2/3 of the time with 5.2k.
I also don't see why would you complain about fortitude when he loses his ability to teleport?

Learn basic maths please. It still multiplied his damage by an effective amount of 60.78%. If I wanted to say double damage 60.78% of the time, I would put damage * 2 * 0.6078 which is damage * 1.2156. But that's not the way it works. Chance to do double damage is an effective multiplier of your damage, thus it counts directly as an extra multiplier to your damage.

By the way, here's something I learned in let's see.. 7 or so hours of basic psychology: using excuses is a psychological defense mechanism when you don't want to admit something. With that in mind, each time you say X = BM, you are using BM as an excuse to avoid dueling someone using or doing X.

I'm not so much using it as an excuse but as a barrier so that the duels are atleast governed. In this game, it's not balanced. You can completely sorb elemental damage, we all know that. That's why rules are made to make it so people don't hack/sorb and such.

Sorry, TGod's and Fortitude are not enough to heal your life. Never. You will first need to negate the damage to <40, when the TGod's straight absorb is enough to heal you. Effectively, percentages never heal you since it works to remove the damage. And if your damage is <40 with 90% LR, you should remake, since that means your damage is <2352.94118 before any penalties.
