I was dueling with my buddy on his very good fury wolf on east, and dueled the #1 fury druid on east and he was OWNING and he was using a 40/AR guillaumes face, and i noticed that when using that with rends, highlords, and gores, you get 63% deadly strike and 48% crushing blow. why doesn't more wolfies use this for fury vs fury, my buddy just got one and hes alot better but havent expiremented** very much, whats everyones thoughts and will someone give me one?? ~Awroo
Guillames is a great helm for pure melee dueling , it works wonders on fury wolves and zealers for the deadly strike variations. They are pretty easy to get on west ill do some trading later and get us a couple of those helms to mess around and do some pure melee fight with.
I think most end up usin jalals because it offers a little more versatility in public duels for the resistance and + str.

Ya, I would just use it for fury vs. fury, im not givin up my beloved jalals for public pk'n.
If you ask me, guillaume's face is the best fury helm against melee. I always use it, except against whirlwind barbs (cerebus).
People don't use it so much because there are a lot of fury/rabies druids, and generally speaking, casters are in majority. In those cases guillaume's isn't so good.
edit:
Well, Kiba already answered.
I honestly didnt know people didnt use guilliums face ... i thought all wolves kept it in there stash. So i dont know how to answer your questions ...

The resson why I dont keep it in my stash is because of the way I assigh my points. I am forced to use a jalals, 15 str dracs, and 20 str belt. In order to use a storm sheild. So after I use those items. I then use my switching out items to have alot less str then stormsheild. Which are my weapons, armors, boots, and jewelery. I also only change out my jewelery only when block rate doesnt matter.
It offers by far the most damage of the helmets available with all the deadly strike, blow and what not. It lacks resists and AR, which is why people often use Cerberus or Jalal's for other types of duels than 'straight-up' melee duels. I used to use it socketed with a Ber rune in my "glory days"... (when I was playing).

Do most fury/rabies or plain fury wolfies invest in enough strength to be able to use rends while using a fort, or do they use enigma to get the desired strength.
Do most fury/rabies or plain fury wolfies invest in enough strength to be able to use rends while using a fort, or do they use enigma to get the desired strength.
Rabies/fury rarely use steelrends, those are better for pure fury wolves. Especially titan fury wolves use it, but they (steelrends) don't make much of a difference for a standard fury.
To answer your question, there is no logic behing using enigma to wear steelrends, cause steelrends are good versus particular melee (for example fury wolves opponents) and there are much better armours to use against melee then enigma (those are mainly fortitude or jeweler's with life for titan wolves with 4 fpa weapons, in my opinion even duress is better).
So usually, they invest in strenght to use steelrends, and that kind of fury wolves are built to fight melee almost exclusively.
