I found that low level bone walls can be VERY useful with my summoner. They work well for keeping the heat off of myself/my army when faced with some tough monsters. They also help to lure out whatever's hiding behind the next corner and can prevent my d00ds from wandering off in some random direction. Anyone else use bone walls like this?

yeah bone walls and prisons are good ideas but i find i never use them. on average with good equip you should be hitting 15 skels, 15 mages, lots of revives aswell as a golem and a merc - they tank well and imo do not need walls for protection

I play SP, so I'm still working on "good" equipment. As of now, I have 12/12 skellies/mages and a merc with cheapo gear. They tank most things great, but there are times when they need a little help (or just leave me unprotected). It really helps when trying to save that one or two minions that just run off to fight the toughest boss pack on screen while all the others are doing something else.

Welcome to the wild, wild world of the undead!

Strategic bone walls are very appropriate, especially for us untwinked HC players. Let them monsters pound on some bunch of bones while leaving us alone! Anything to increase the chance of the enemy hitting something/someone else.

Good luck and good hunting!

I find the 12 hotkeys too limited to use bonewalls. Not to mention I don't skill any of the PB xept CE. I got the bone prison charges of Marrowalk but they don't work as good as bonewalls thus I'm stickin' with the ol' dim vision for added defense. Most overpowered curse in the game. However I did find bonewalls GODLY with a PB necro but it will only work if you and everyone in the game have teleport.

Eh even with mediocre equips I find I kill stuff too easily to be bothered using bone walls, but they can be clutch from time to time. I'd use bone prison a whole lot more if it used diablo's bone prison animation which is sweet instead of the circle of bone walls... As it is I still use bone wall a lot more than I use weaken.

I made guardian with a meleemancer who just cast bonewalls and poked the monsters through the bars. Very powerful skill. Also, if you haven't tried it yet, try casting Bone Prison on Hell Duriel (just make sure you aren't stuck inside with him).

I made an hybrid Skellies/bonespear necro with max Bprison.
It happens that I often use Bprison to vary my style play, specifically on Baal clone...it allows me to easily know where he is (i know about the name thingy).
And Duriel as well.

But the most usual spot is in chaos when partying with zons or sorc , well , with non melee chars, they appreciate ...a lot seeing all trapped monsters..then fire at will safely.

Me too. Odly enough it took me a while before I realised I could make bone forts and have another way to protect my Meleemancer.
