View Full Version : Will knockback help vs smiters in this case.

Ok, its been awhile since I have played d2. I am back and on ladder now.

Here's the question. Would knock back be effective at all vs a smiter, if I was using my E tomby? or would it be counter productive. I am trying to find ways to gain an advantage over them, and I am failing miserably, lol.

Cleglaws claws my man. They aren't uninterruptable as much as you are attacking.

Not to mention 95% of them will try to run first, instead of teleport, and with all that slow, you want that. As soon as they run, their blocking goes down the crapper and their 28k+ def becomes 0, leaving them easy pickings for Fury (especially if they run INTO it instead of away).

Heh, 28k defense... I wish that was the standard and not 45k (65k for the really decked out ones). =P

Geuss if they are gonna bm with exile I might as well to.

Thanks for the idea guys, I never really considered slow! =D

Heh, I have a smiter friend who uses exile and on top of that uses dracs.. I told em its bm and his answer was yeaaa but without dracs i'm dead... duhhhhhh :) absolutely hate dueling his a$$.. unless i get 1 hit kill with gpa then :S his lifetap hits and its all down hill from there..

i'll definately try ceglaw against em though :)

*** the range 5 on ebotdgpa has helped me kill em quite a few times though :) after I got the hang of it I could hit em and one shot kill em just after his first hit.. or his knockback would knock me back and i'd still be in range to hit em.

Hmm, don't most smiters use a phase over berserker "grief" so that holy freeze or gumby won't keep them from hitting the last smite bp? If that's the case the slow off cleg's shouldn't be bad-mannered. :wink3: But at the same time the 25% slow might not be that useful either. I'd think you could probably roll some pretty nice crafted hit-power gloves with the same kb and better secondary mods than cleg's.

Well, it probably would with a p eth doom and cleglaws. =O

It's so rediculous. I wont even duel a smiter with exile and or dracs.
ceglaw sounds like a good idea though.

Actually, a lot of smiters do use griefz for the range. But those who do use the phase might not get their smite speed slowed by clegs. HOWEVER, their walk/run speed WILL be affected by clegs slow, giving you even more time to hit them after they knock you back. Also, you can use a Doom GPA with clegs and they are going to be SOL even with a phase. Plus a phase has a short range compared to GPA. ;)
