new char expire time

so i want to create a new character on battle.net, but it will expire in 10 days. i just want to use it as a mule, and when i played diablo before (years ago) this quick expiration thing wasn't an issue. how long do i need to play the mule character/how high of a lvl does it need to reach before it gets deleted?

You need 2 hours of ingame played time to perm the character, not in chat lobby time.

To be precise, he's not really permed after these 2 hours, you still have to log in with him once per 90 days.
