Can an Act 2 Merc have an aura from a rune-worded weapon stack with his normal aura?

Is there a max number of auras you can equip on someone?

No, auras from items do not stack with natural auras from either you or your merc. So for instance, a might merc wearing a last wish will not have the auras stack. But if the merc wears 2 or more pieces that give the same aura (2 last wishes, dreams etc) then those will stack.

And there is not limit for auras.

not sure if this is correct or not, but I read that a merc only benefits from having 2 aura's. Any additional aura's appear on him but do not an effect.

if this is true, what governs which aura's are used? or is it random?

To fix the endless stacking of holy shock only two aurae are active if equiped in this game. Leaving and entering again enables all aurae. It's a little like anyas resit bug.

So if I equip two last wishes on my barb, I will have a more powerful aura than if I equiped one last wish on him? But, I can only have 2 items with the same aura, that stack?

AFAIK, you can't equip two swords on an Act V merc like you can with regular Barbarian. :(

But you can for instance equip a Hand of Justice Polearm (level 16 Holy Fire) and Dragon Armor (level 14 Holy Fire) on an Act II merc. Once you leave and rejoin the game, he would have a level 30 Holy fire on top of whatever regular aura he has. Unfortunately, if his regular aura is Holy fire as well, they would not stack to get a level 48, or whatever.

A while back, there was a bug where each time an item was quickly removed and re-added to a merc, the auras would stack together. Eventually, you would end up with a level 500 Holy Fire or whatever which was obviously game unbalancing. To fix this, Blizzard made it so only the first two equipped auras are active when you change your merc's equipment. That's why you have to leave and rejoin the game to get a level 30 Holy Fire in the above example.

Thanks, Lanceor. That answers both of my previous questions.

No, auras from items do not stack with natural auras from either you or your merc. So for instance, a might merc wearing a last wish will not have the auras stack. But if the merc wears 2 or more pieces that give the same aura (2 last wishes, dreams etc) then those will stack.

And there is not limit for auras.Okay, when I first read this, I interpreted it as saying that I could not stack item auras of any kind with natural auras. I see that I misinterpreted it. That is what kind of confused me.

So I am to believe that a merc can have a total of 3 auras? Assuming that 2 of them are from items and 1 is a natural aura. And that the natural aura is not the same kind as the two item auras.

Final question, can a merc have 2 different item auras? Like a bramble armor and last wish (if his base aura is prayer)?
