How do you glitch something?

but I heard a lot of people talking about "glitching" and "ebugging" armor. How, exactly, do you do it?

Socket an ethereal armor/helm/shield via the cube recipe. The ethereal bonus will be applied again, resulting in an armor with higher than usual defense.

[Mursilis]

When using the cube to socket an item it must be normal (white) or etheral (grey). You will get a random number of sockets up to the item's maximum number.

So be prepared to get a one socket armor, for example.
