Throne Wave 2

I was baaling the other day and heard about a bug. If there are 8 people in the game, no one will get exp during the second wave of monsters in the throne (Act 2 monsters). I also heard it can be solved by the lowest level leaving the party. Is this true? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like crap to me. Probably just away of getting someone to leave a game so that someone elses friend can join.

No, they just leave the party until the Act 2 monsters are dead. They never leave the game.

Unfortunately, this particular rumor is true (well, most of it anyway). In an 8 player party, the second wave of minions for Baal on Hell will indeed give low experience (1 experience point each, for Achmel and his minions, though the skeleton mages are not affected).

It's due to a problem with the party experience calculation, with regards to a signed integer overflow. In a player 8 party, everyone will get negative experience for the second wave of minions, which will default to 1. Having one person exit the party for that round will stop this, and it doesn't need to be the lowest person.
