Hi,

I'm new to these forums and i'm after some advice if anyone is able to help me that would be great.

I haven't played diablo II since 1.09 and recently some of my pals have decided to start playing again for fun. i see that there is version 1.11b out now, when did this come out?

anyway back to my orignal question; where can i find some pally builds which have been tried and tested in the latest patch version? i have checked some pally guides on this forum and most of them are pre 1.11. and the ones that are lised are charger and elemental type builds.

i was looking for something more melee which will work well in the latest patch of this game.

so if anyone could help i would appreciate it.

Jon.

ps: how long do battle.net accounts remain open for? i suppose mine is closed and i will be starting from scratch with nothing :undecided:

pps: i've just ordered the game and expansion so i'm still waiting for it to arrive.

If you like melee pallys then i suggest a zmiter i.e a zealot who also smites. Later when u read of the new quests this patch, this melee pally could do em too :wink:There is this runeword called Grief which makes a point in smite the godliest point you'd ever invest in :P Hmm i used to play .09 too and my favourite melee pally i made was the 4fpa schafferlot  Just found a unique legendary mallet yesterday called Stone Crusher and considering a crushing blow hammer zealot build for it :P Have to obtain lots of ias though ^^ Looking at Treachery runeword hehe Oh you have to log in at least once every 90 days for your character to be active. Cheers and welcome back to LOD

Melee characters generally require at least half decent gear, so I wouldn't recommend one untwinked. If you really want melee, a Tesladin or Frost Zealot can get through most of the game on its own untwinked, but it will get very hard towards the end stages of Hell.

(At this point everyone will start suggesting a Skelemancer or Meteorb for starting out.)

As for guides, all the 1.10 guides are valid for the current patch. 1.11 came out maybe a year ago? All that changed from 1.10 were some bug fixes (most importantly the "Marrowalk bug" if a guide mentions it), some underpowered runewords and a new quest (Uber Tristram).
