Adding sockets

Found an eth cryptic axe with no sockets. So the formula I want is:

1 Ral Rune + 1 Amn Rune + 1 Perfect Amethyst + Normal Weapon = Socketed Weapon of same type

Is that right? I take it the reference to a "normal" weapon just means non-magic, non-socketed, and an eth cryptic axe is fine?

I'm lvl 85, but that doesnt impact my chance of getting a useful number of sockets right?
