Everyone seems to have a different opinion about whether Griffs and light facets affect trap damage. I'm currently wearing a Griffs and a 4 light facet monarch,and my damage for Lightning Sentry is showing to be 15K. Is this a mistake or what? I emailed blizz, but no reply so far. If anyone knows 100%, and has proof, please let me know! No "I think" replies please, although no doubt you're all experts in the field.

Traps are considered minions and therefor don't benefit from any damage/res modifiers you have.

Or to qoute from battlenet (http://battle.net/diablo2exp/skills/assassin-traps.shtml)
Certain items will allow a player to lower an enemy's resistances and/or heighten elemental damage. These items will not function with most traps as some traps are minions of the character and the damage is not generated directly from the character in question.

Wouldn't the easy way to test be to take off your shield and watch your dmg?

no the char screen is wrong and need to be fixed... even tho it shows the damage increase in the char screen, but the actual damage hasn't increased a single bit. it's also known as Lying Char. Screen (LCS)

I have a question on this, if I'm kicking using dtalon and wearing griffon's does that lower the - enemy lightning resistance? Let's say I have LS attacking that same opponent at the time I'm kicking. Does the - enemy lightning resistance apply here for traps? I'm guessing no.

Griffs affects trap damage in exactly one way:

+1 to all skills
