View Full Version : Does Anyone Use Bramble Anymore?
Simple question really, Ive been reading a lot of guides and none of them make mention of wearing Bramble at any time. Is there something wrong with Bramble that I can't see? I'm in the process of making a WW/MB Sin, and my first priority armor on my list was Bramble + Trangs Gloves/Dracs - is this not viable in the dueling world anymore?
I personally like the armor and the bonus to poison it gives (which apparently applies again on hitting), but Ive come to think that no one else likes it :sad2:
Thoughts on Bramble?

I like Bramble. Just in todays Tele-charged dueling world, bramble makes it hard to keep up. I use Enigma as my main armour, but I keep a Bramble around as it has some special uses, specifically against Barbarians and Smiters.

Bramble give great damage and also has a wonderful 50% FHR, the problem is that the little +1 Teleport on Engima makes up for that and then some, and Enigma has DR, skills and massive STR. The problems with bramble are:
1) No mobility: A WWsin needs fade, you will be running around slowly.
2) No Claw Block: It doesnt work when you run, it does work when you teleport.
3) It makes you bad on teams: You can't coordinate with other fast teleporters, you can't manuver, if you get in trouble you can't get out.
4) You can't town: Bad in pubs.
5) You lose a bunch of life.
6) Dragon Flight sucks. Teleport - Ww is better 90% of the time. DF is slow, misfires, is heavily interuptable.
WWsins are the ultimate caster hunters, they need the mobility of enigma to do this right.

Happy, I have a question. Is it worth the loss of 200-300 life in order to build in a Bramble switch? I find it is nice to have, but does the extra life make up for it?

Well Ive already got a Bramble, and Enigma is definetely not hard to get/make. I'll keep my options open and have both.
What is the bare minimum FCR someone can have to survive teleporting around in PvP?

Von, I try to remember who plays what type of sin, but I'm just drawing a blank. You are a Speedersin right? If so a Bramble switch is pretty vital, beating good smiters and barbs with only Trang fueled venom is pretty hard. If you are a WW/Trapsin, I'd recommend a Bramble switch if you prefer it. Honestly, I find that since I didn't build in Dflight on my current sin, I never use the Bramble option, and in GM duels having the teleport option to help you trap is superior to the extra damage imo.
Rassier, 65 FCR is the general target for claw/claw sins, I've seen a few sins who use the 42 FCR bp.
