IK barb help

I am at work so some of the links are blocked, esp the IK build :sad2:

I have all the IK gear except the IKSC, am level 69 and have all IK gear except maul and SC (obviously) equipped, weapon is Windhammer. I killed NM baal last night but hell is too hard right now, res are around 15 all and i get caned by PI. If i want to find the SC is my best bet to get to level 76, equip the IK maul and then take on Hell and do Pit runs until it drops? is there a better strategy?

If you have 1-point berzerk it should be piece of cake.

i found my IKSC in the pit . so there is nothing wrong with your strategy. but running for a specific item can be quite frustating, especially when you are looking for some of the more elusive items like IKSC. but even without SC this baba will be fun.

Thanks DarkFlight, i will try Berserk. I know what you mean NewCo, i have been looking for the illusive SOJ and Tals ammy for ages doing Hell Meph and Hell Andy runs gallore with my BlizzBaller. Keep on getting non SOJ unique rings and non Tals green ammies. Hopefully if i have a list long enough of things i want the Pits will deliver one of them :grin: pretty please

Well smoke armor may be good for resistances. 50 to all resistances can't be bad. along with some charms and natural you should be high even without SC.

Once you have enough resists to survive in the pit finding of SC should be a matter of time.

Just don't forget how game works: it detects what you want and then it denies it to you :) So don't feel frustrated if you don't find it soon.

NM Baal run until you can equip the maul. Smoke is a good suggestion for a temporary armour.

Maybe run Pindle for the armour with your Blizzballer. Be prepared for about 5K runs though. I am up to 1900 so far without any sign of it.

Like others have said, I would make a nice def 'Smoke' to help out w/ your resistances until you find a better alternative or the IKSC...

Do you have a WW setup??? If so, I suggest when you are able to equip the IK Maul, socket it w/ 2xShael or 2xJewels of Fervor (with other mods, preferably ED%) Either one will help you hit the last WW breakpoint, thus increasing your killing speed, making life easier :thumbsup:

sorcynecro - if you're specifically searching for SoJ and Tal's Amulet, try NM Andy. If she's bugged she's the best source for those two.

Thanks for all that advice, i will indeed run until i can equip the IK maul and will socket it for the break point. As for Andy and the SOJ and Tals ammy, i will just have to be persistent but boy is it boring and frustrating when another green ammy falls and its not Tals

@skinhead: NM Andy may be, stadistically, the best source for SoJ's and Tal's, but, I'm running NM meph for some nice caster items (trying to get occulus or at least a +2 skills,20 FCR orb) and during the runs, I have gotten 2 SoJ's from him while I wasn't even in the search for them.

My advice sorcynecro is to have fun and be in the lookout for good equipment, not just one particular item or it will be frustating

Fair enough, I've done hundreds of NM Meph runs (because my old sorc wasn't good enough to get through the Den of Evil in Hell) and I've never seen a SoJ. Luck of the draw I suppose.

Yeah, luck I guess. I've gotten 2 of those rings and I haven't gotten a decent 1h caster weapon yet :rolleyes: (still searching for, at least, a +2 sorc skills and 20 FCR orb, currently using an iron jan bong for that purpose and my resists are suffering for the lack of a shield)

Just make sure you never say what your looking for outloud while playing. It took me an extra 6 months (7 hour days) to find a shako on closed net.

You're never gonna find IKSC if you're looking for it. If you run 10 million runs in pits, you won't find it.

Only chance you have of ever finding it is if you give up, start on a new character, and start looking for ANOTHER item. Say.... you're looking for Tal's ammy or something. THEN, and ONLY THEN will you find IKSC.
