self found soj poofed

Can anybody explain this case to me?
It didnt happen to me but to a friend of mine (trustable). He has found soj on a nightmare game nothing special. he kept it in the inventory since then not trading not droping it on the ground or putting it in cube it just lay there all the time and then a couple days later he logs in and discovers his soj disappeard along with some other stuff like cheap rings tals orb and something else.

Is it a common bug for items to disappear? I have played d2 much longer than him and it never ever happened to me.

hmm he also told me his password is unlikely to be guessed. Besides there were some rather valuable items which didnt disappear.
It was like really cheap magical rings were gone and an Ist rune still was left.

Meaby he bought duped soj somewhere and accidentally swiched them? Or meaby his char has expired, and therefore his items have "disappeared" ?

nope he only had one soj and char hasnt expired besieds it wasnt only the soj as i said.

Untill now the hacked password seems the most likely solution however its hard to believe either.

Meaby the 1 who meaby "hacked" him, took SoJ because it's worth far more than an Ist rune (if legit).

then why did he take totally worthless magical rings and tals weapon?

did he find the rings and tals ammy and soj around the same time, it sounds likely its a rollback but that normally happens to just one item, well maybe he was hacked, they just took 1 thing of vaule and some small stuff to seem like its not a hack job just to come back later...... it happen to me,noticed things missing thought i missed placed them, day after finding tals armor, PW changed everything gone... just keep an eye out... and run a virus program just incase he maybe d/led something for the game...

I agree with that he got hacked...
I had something similar happen and they didnt take all my items at once...They took some changed my pass and it looks like they were just going to take there time in getting all the items...
I recovered my account changed my pass and now i have only a couple of the items from one of my chars...but they didnt touch my other char which had much godlier stuff

But yeah after all that it just seems like he got hacked

So they took a valauble ring and some non-valuable rings? Maybe he broke the golden rule of d2 .. "And God spoketh unto thee, never play diablo two whilst drunk. Foreth He who trades drunk may trade items accidently beleiving they are worthless. This is the word of God." :rolleyes:

most probably roll back ?

i got a wisp ring from a baal run .. and before i could save and exit, the game closes and said connection interrupted. guess wad.. my charcacter got rolled back to befoer that baal run. wisps rings and exp gone. sad.
