FCR -Metorb'er NL

Hi.

- I have heard about some sort of "magical" break point of FCR being 103.. why's that ? I, currently have Tal's full set on, Trang's gloves , Lidless thats 70 iirc... what should I go for besides that ... I know I can have more with "hoto" way but I like Tal's , so far ( and I am poor on resistances, never seen or have had an anni/ torch ) so Tal's are just up my alley... any input would be sweet.

Well, it depends on the spells you're using. There are different breakpoints. Here is some info:

Most Sorc Skills Affected by FCR:
FCR Frames
0% 13
9% 12
20% 11
37% 10
63% 9
105% 8
200% 7

Since you wrote Meteorb in the title then reaching the 105% FCR is what you should aim for. That is good for Fireball and Teleport. Also since you prefer Tal's, a good way to reach the breakpoint is:

Full Tal's 50% FCR

Spirit Shield 25% - 35% FCR
Note if you have a Spirit shield with at least 25% you can just wear a 10% FCR ring to reach 105%. If you have a Spirit shield with 35% both your ring slots are free for items like SOJ's, BK's, etc.

Magefist 20% FCR
Pick this over Trangs because it gives +1 to fire skills. You're sorc is a Meteorb. :smiley:

- Well I have looked all over my Tal's set but all I can count is 20 from orb and 10 from full set... where are those 50% comming from ? some "hidden" implementation(s) Blizz made ?
Orb= 20
Full set =10
Lidless = 20
Trang's/Magefists = 20

total = 70

Not dizzing, just trying to figure it out ( my 1 sorc. ever )

PP.S. Spirit shield... is that a runeword of a kind or a fixed one ?.. I play NL as stated in the title

Try 2 FCR rings.

Tal's Set = 50%
Lidless = 20% - 70% so far
Magefists = 20% - 90% so far
2 FCR rings = 20% - 110% total, breaking the 105% mark.

Spirit is a Ladder-only shield runeword. So you can't make it on NL. So you need 2 FCR rings to make up for it. IMO 105% FCR is non-negotiable for a Meteorb sorc. It's a must have.

The full set does not get 10...

The armor, belt and amu get 10 each... 20+3*10 = 50.

IMO 105% FCR is non-negotiable for a Meteorb sorc. It's a must have.
Naw, 65 is enough for teleporting and fireball, certainly for MF. But with two good rare rings 105 should still be easy to ge

I'd much rather have my 45%DR, max block, and virtual lightning immunity than some apparently "non-negotiable" FCR breakpoint.
