Okay here it is, a small video I made in one day on a friends PC. Basically it's my LLD zealer and 2 hours of dueling footage condensed down with music. Please stream or download it, and post comments/criticism!

Nice video, but it is hard to tell what level your opponents were since their ears were only visible for a moment. Screenshots of gear, stats and skills would be interesting as well!

To all questions: My build is a lvl 20 zealer, with 10pts sacrifice, 4pts zeal, 3pts concentrate. I stuffed up some other skill points so that's why not all are accounted for :(. About me cutting out the part where I gold steal, heh heh didn't do it on purpose but hey, I gotta make money somehow...:)
The levels of the people I duel are roughly between 12 and 30, but the people I own most are mostly around 15-20. And I don't use deaths 'cos I don't have them. And well to be honest if I used deaths those cold sorc's would be no fun to duel against, It would just be like a normal caster duel, and the chance of being chilled makes it a lot more challenging for me.

The gear I use is pretty crap, just a few bits of arctic set/okay rares. That said, I zeal for about 125-220 damage, but have crap life (no 3 pruby masks for me). The people that I duel ARE crap, that's how I win so easily most of the time. You may have noticed that the cold zealer absolutely smashes me, as I don't have deaths, and he is properly built, unlike the majority of builds I dueled. I find my zealer is good vs. most barbs/pally's, unless they are well built. he's very good vs. summoners and ok vs. low health casters.

Anyway as for pics, here's the pic of my warhammer, it's nothing insanely good, Sculpen gave it to me. the E.D is low, but 100+ar, 10 IAS etc make that up: http://www.diabloii.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=218&cat=500
In the next day or two I will find the time to post my char screen, but not right now as I don't have a screenie.

I may be making another vid, this time i also need to include duels of summoners, good melee necros, other sorc builds, maybe some zons, and perhaps even some of us teaming a higher lvl ww barb like the orb sorc in the video...as it happens enough. By the way did anyone notice something funny in the video when i dueled that ice blast sorc for the 3rd time? I swung in mid air while she was running, then I ran away and she ran away, then she just died suddenly...kinda funny the things lag does?!??!

Havn't got the hang of uploading multiple pics at once (and on dial-up) so basically my other gear is arctic belt (40 cold res), rare chain mail, rare boots, 30/20 bone shield, nice rare imbued helm with FHR and AR, rare amulet with AR and +5 str, and 2 AR rings...

Some gear donations would be nice as well, becasue as you can see I'm kinda poor!

Where could I get such a program to record my D2C duels?

I have fantastic dueling tactics I wish to share with everyone else, but I hate taking the time to type it out. Besides, it's easier to understand and believe when you see it in action.

Judas > you might want to tone down on the colorful language use, there are better, more socially accepted euphemisms for 'being able to defeat somebody'.
I'm not saying we all should go Amish here, just find words more suitable to a family site. :)

hmm... u really need better gear. sets work wonders for LLDs. Sig especially. plus u need charge. if u had charge + cold res aura u'd be able to rape sorcs in the 40's. my 12 charger/zealer rapes sorcs in their 50s with cold res aura with their pussy little orbs doing like 20 dmg per shard. If ur west, message me, ill try and get u some better gear >< Mr.Crowley - Classic West

oh, videos pretty nice... only thing i can think of criticizm wise is attacking lower levels... obviously LLDs are built to rape at a low level, but a lld fighting a lower level is pretty much suicide for the lower level. especially if they arent llds themselves. i personally never attack anyone below my level, and i really dislike people who do... but i guess its really up to u.

Yeah I'm on west, but whats your account? *MrCrowley as one word because you can't get .'s in account names? Some better gear would be cool, as well...I'm need deaths sash/gloves, and maybe twitch/sigs guard/sback...It'd be great if you could get me just arctic furs though! About attacking the lower levels? I don't really attack anyone unless they just randomly attack me, or we agree to duel in town. And I really need to duel people lvl 15-20 to have a chance of winning, as I have crap gear. The barb with the maul was lvl 28, but was insanely wierd...I mean I figured he must be doing 600+ damage, but without an actual skill. He was the highest level I've won against so far...

You should remake your char, I only put 6 points into strength. Starting off was hard, but once I could use SB and Twitch it got easier, and eventually Gen Flail. With angelic rings and ammy, no dexterity is neede because of + 20 from Twitch and angelic. You'll have really high vitality, and then a 3 socket p ruby mask. Gloves and belt are up to you, and if you want you can use goblin toe.

ya its Mr.Crowley with a "." ... and ya im sure i a few extra twitches, etc. somewhere u can have. but also when u get your gear ull be able to kill people 2x ur level with ease. id say a sorc would be the easiest thing to kill (if u have charge). but im kinda limited on my playing time atm because im like grounded or w/e... but just add me and ill be on within this week sometime.

It's not too hard, just get Fraps, run it, then ingame you can just press your record hotkey and record to a folder. Then just open up the files in any old movie editor, trim them, whack some music n titles and your done :azn:

2 you dont have charge? how can you catch fast charcters? you move pretty fast, but still..
3 your damage is around 200?
4 what about chargers? can you duel them?
5 why arent these sorcs teleporting?

Not so much, but walking does not penalize your block rate where as running does.

1. I don't walk, but you are probably referring to the part before most duels where I slow down as i eneter the moors. This is just 'cos running fraps doesn't help performance, so it lags slightly when I run out, then speeds up. But sometimes I do walk, just to help blocking, and against melee, mobility 'aint anything.

2. I don't have charge, which is just a bad build decision on my part. With my lag on my main pc (not the one I recorded on) charge is very hard to use. When I get around to getting a rush I will get charge. And I wait for fast chars to come to me, then manoevre around them to get them.

3. My damage is about 125-230 now, so a bit above 160 avg. That said, if I had a rush and rebuilt to counteract bad skill point decisions it would be 180+

4. And chargers :tongue: I don't like them at all. I can't really touch them, and they are mostly charge/zeal so I ask them to just zeal. It's basically just 'cos of my lag that theymove so fast/ semi desynch so they are hard for me to even namelock.

5. The sorcs aren't teleing because they can't. The orber probably could but probably didn't think she would need to untill that charger owned her good :azn: The others were around lvl 16-18...and don't say that as an lld I should just duel 25+...without deaths and with a it of strategy coaching from me one of those sorcs could almost kill me...(I just didn't show that bit in my vid...)

My apologies for being off topic, but a few things:

1) That was neat, having the same post count for two different people, one after the other (shame I posted a few times).

2) I used to be an avid LLD'er, still have a solid level 30 Hammerdin (I've probably posted that a few times around, meh). If you make a LLD on LOD, it is much easier to make, and typically more effective (runewords are powerful, even some of the lower ones).

ok... walking doesnt pentalize block while running does... which proves my point that walking = better defence (not defence as in the number in the character menu, defence as in the ability to defend. or.... block... however u want to look at it)

and

LOD doesnt make llders better... compared to classic it does but compared to LOD its just the same as a lld in classic. everyone has the same advantage on LOD so it really makes no difference.

I didn't say LOD made them better, just more effective, as in more damage output. Also, I was comparing it to classic, since this is the classic forum.

Er...the spot where you don't get hit by hammers? I havn't really dueled many hammerdins, that was one of the first, but I just kinda namelocked zeal, I didn't really think about avoiding 'em by staying at the 10 'o clock mark or anything :grin:

But about LLD in LoD being easier? IMO it's actually harder, as in classic I can sorta compete with okay characters, and that's with crappy gear that was given to me. In LoD to be great you need a full inv full of charms and near perfect jewels in items. So my reasoning is that in classic you only need weapons/armour etc, and not heaps of hard to get os items/jewels/charms as well. Though I agree with warlock in the above post :azn:

every time i duel with my Hdin, it seems most effective if the person is at about the "10-11 o clock" mark lol. id say the safest place may be below the hdin.

By the way, my perpetual state of poorness I'm having trouble making any builds these days. Does anyone on west ladder have any free stuff they don't want? Most people I see just throw gear like arctics and other low sets away, stuff that I could use. So if that's where you play maybe you could PM me or something if you find stuff that you are just going to leave, and send it my way :).

;) ive been recording some LLD duels for the past week or so, i got some gg duels in there and then some not so good ones >< i tried to throw in some variety by dueling in A2,3 and 4. and with my 12 Pali and 29 Necro... i wish to god that i had recorded my 29s duel with 87 barb. O_O. WW locked the crap outa himself with my decrep and golem. he was stuck in ww lock for ... seems like it had to be a minute, took me a few mana pots, but after he was done >< i so wish i had that video... but ya... ill post it as soon as i get a few more duels and a video editing program lol

Well i shoot videos for PvM play for the purposes of conducting experiments and maybe share stuff with people new to LOD but i just want to share that i use ZD Soft Game Recorder and it's free and the free version allows you to record 60secs at a stretch :P Once 60secs are up just hit w/e hotkey u assigned to recording and later combine all the one minute vidoes. I use a simple 'Windows Movie Maker' software that came with my pc and managed to figure out how to add music recently :P After you're happy simply post your video on You Tube. Good video and looks like lots of fun!

Hmm I don't recommend using windows movie maker. For a short clip maybe but if you want to do really nice job pick up proper program. If you still go to school you can 'borrow' a program if they have one. The problem with it is that its rendering is really crappy. So your nice quality footage looks kinda muddy. A lot of people have told me this so i'm pretty sure it's true.

Good to see you followed my advice and got some duels in different acts. I'd love to hook you up with the full version of fraps but my friend got it so i don't have a clue ^_^

Anyway, keep recording...pm when it's done, i'd love to see it!

I'm guessing the full version requires one to pay real world money to the creator of Fraps and that this licence to use is non-transferrable.
On a dark day somebody might misconstrue your post as offering 'warez'.

Sorry warlock if it seemed that way, it's my friend that *probably* got it illegally, not me :azn:

But IMO it's actually worth it to buy the full version of Fraps, it's a nifty program and if you have a bit of spare cash consider purchasing it Judas.

Yeah same here for me, no spare $$$ at all. Anyways wmm+trial fraps should be fine for your first movie.
