Any of you remember the original bvbs?

I remember when the first of them came and they used Biggins, Bloodfists, Angels, Gtoes, Bladebuckle, twitch, and a hammer.

I thought it was really funny that level 30s were owning level 60s, mostly because the barbs kept saying they were hacking.

Does anyone still have an old bvb like this?

Because the bvbs nowadays really only have dupes like cv, and gfingers. Do you guys think that the old bvbs could compete with the new ones?

Old BvBs were high defense and high life leech. Barbs like those didn't come around until 1.10, so those are hardly original. The level 30 barbs you are thinking of on east NL pretty much always used a duped battle hammer, Plague Star of Fiend Breaker. No real BvB enthusiast would try to compete with a level 30 BvB, and anyone with a level 60 BvB is still weak. The real BvB players get high levels and use defense gear now. Unique lamer barbs like those (especially with sback) don't stand a chance to any good defense barb. When I bring my BvB into public games, I always get level 7x barbs going hostile towards me then accusing me of being scared to duel when I tell them to get a decent level then duel me in a private game. When I do bother with these kids I usually kill them one ww with my high life high defense lower damage build. My BvB on east ladder is 91, and it'll take out any unique barb that you call a "true bvb". I've owned East NL BvB with both dupes and legits, and I never even bothered with barbs level 30 or 60, the lowest I really BvBed with is level 88.

i believe what you're saying, but i have yet to come across anyone to challenge me with a viable defense bvb. It is ladder after all...

how old? I think my first bvb was in .06 or .07west classic hardcore bvb. I guess what you're talking about is a very, very long time ago since there were lots of dupes by then, mostly def/vita exe tank barbs all dupes even the occasional good lancer 5k life. I don't play anymore but i do remember how much fun bvb was anytime before 1.10, made a lot of barbs on west sc and hc, never got a GREAT bvb in hc but my old 91 sc barb Violent was up there for a while before i quit.

bvb was always a question of ar and leech (before angelics got ar boost), a little bit to do with defence. Cant remember when that 30/20 mod came in but it wasnt always there. I can remember all bvb's used execs as hammers didnt work properly to start with. With about 30% ll you refill 3k life in one ww. In fact i always thought it was bugged because you would regain more life than was taken and quite often noobs would say you were drinking.

I've played west ladder, have a sorc around lvl 80 there, but I'm unimpressed with west players as I've had an entire 90+ CS game try to PK me and all of them died. West seems to have slower CS runs, and not quite the items of east also. I spend a long time to gather the BvB gear I use, and I level to 90+, so it's not something I could do quickly. I rarely have much time to play D2 anymore, so I'm staying on East, and in the time it would take me to make a west barb I could finish 92-93 on my sorc or 91-92 on my bvb.
