View Full Version : Frenzy Goldfind Barb
I've decided to start making a Goldfind Barb using Frenzy.
20 Double Swing
1 Increased Speed
1 Iron Skin
1 Natural Resists
Adding up to 110 points. Of course, I'll never make that. But what should I drop? The Double Swing synergy? I've just started the Barb and I've already put a second point in Double Swing. Remake?
And what mastery should I choose?
Thanks in advance!
You don't need 20 points in Find Item if you ask me, even if you're making a Goldfind Barb. If you stopped at putting 10 points in, you'd have a 42% Chance (and that would obviously be boosted by any +skills items/charms) to pop a corpse. If you added those last 10 points, your %chance would go up to a whopping 51. That's not worth 10 skill points in my book.
As for your mastery, I'm pretty sure that swords is the logical choice so that you can use dual-Lem Ali Babas as your switch weapons. Other people may have other ideas, but that seems like the best way to go to me.
Thanks for the suggestion! Well, anyone else can help me further with Double Swing?
Yea, as Croup said, you don't need that much Find Item. You also won't need that much synergy. You can put some in, that's fine, but you may find a few points diverted into natural resistance to be more useful. Reason being the Travincal Council (the #1 gf place) is loaded with elemental attacks, and if you're wearing gold find gear, you won't make that great of resistance. Not only that, gold find gear doesn't come with much +skill, so you can't count on that to boost your Natural Resist to the point where you start suffering too great of diminishing returns.
Another point worth noting is that you should consider Cham'ing a piece of gear. Most GF guides won't mention this because they assume you're WW, but for Frenzy it's important. Spectral Hit, Cold Enchanted, and the occassional Heirophant will be a pain without the Cham. If you get chilled and one of the Council spawns Holy Freeze in Hell, it's S/E time, because you won't survive in GF gear. Cham'ing a Crown of Thieves, for example, is better than wearing a Ravenfrost over a Dwarfstar, because you get better GF overall, won't have frozen, un-horkable corpses, and you get to keep the Dwarfstar's fire absorb on both ring slots, which comes in handy.
Also, keep an Atma's Scarab in inventory for runs. Ismail Vilehand has a habit of spawning Physical Immune. I just ignore him, but sometimes I wish I weren't so lazy that I'd mule that sucker over.
That was excellent advise! Thanks a lot!
If the helm socket has to be taken by an IAS jewel, a good way to get 'cannot be frozen' is trang's belt, which also has a nice life/mana boost and good defense.
