NL and Ladder ~~ Possible Dupes List

I threw out the idea to the rest of the community in a previous thread about starting a Dupes List, so here it is!

There have been some rares floating around that I'm sure I've seen more than once held by different people in the span of only a few days, and I've been having funny feelings about them just as some of you have already expressed in other threads. The goal of this thread is to raise awareness of items that may be possibly duped. We can't pinpoint all of the dupes, and some of the rares posted here may or may not be duped, but it's nice to keep an eye out for them.

This list is geared mostly for Ladder on all realms, and I'm not too concerned with NL since most of us who come to these forums know what the common NL dupes are on our respective realms. However, for those of you who don't know which ones they are, please ask here, and I'm sure someone can tell you about them.

When posting, please include the realm, the exact name of the item, and the exact mods of the item. DO NOT PUT THE ACCOUNT OR CHARACTER NAME OF THE PERSON HOLDING THE POSSIBLE DUPE. Again, the goal of this thread is not to exploit people, but to raise awareness of items that may be possibly duped.

Abbriviations used in the above lists :
fhr = Faster Hit Recovery
life = adds .. life
Fr = ..% to Fire resistance
Cr = ..% to Cold resistance
Lr = ..% to Lightning resistance
ATD = Attacker Takes . Damage
lrad = Light Radius
PRs = Perfect Ruby in the socket
PDs = Perfect Diamond in the socket
PEs = Perfect Emerald in the socket
PSs = Perfect Saphire in the socket
ed = Enhanced Damage in case of weapons and Enhanced Defence in case of armor/helm/gloves/belt/boots/shield
nrg = Adds . to Energy
2pal = 2 to paladin skill levels
repl = replenish life
pris = Prismatic resists = resist all ..%
stacked = when resistance is higher then the resists given by prismatic
30/20 = 30% faster block and 20% increased chance to block
hfd = Half Freeze Duration
DRB = Damage Reduced By

Yea it sure would be great to be able to tell a dupe from a legit item. Would it be an idea to make a list like the one used in the new players account list? Then it would be fairly easy to sort the items as the get posted in individual realm. Just to make a search easier?

Perhaps, but I'm not sure that may be the best thing at the moment since this thread is just getting started. We'll see what happens later on. :grin:

Everything is duped, random newbies have duped even the most worthless of junk. Every single East NL dupe has been reduped now, everything from Shadow Coil and Corruption Heart to Shadow Casque (I believe I have the only perm one of these left and I will not allow it to be duped)

Not all of them have to be listed by their exact specifications, just enough to identify them and thus caution the trader that he might be trading for a soon-to-poof item. So type and name would be a good start, along with their major mod(s).

Personally, I am against a list of duper accounts for the below reason. If there is a overwhelming demand for such a list I will discuss it with the other mods.

Say person A loses a duel to person B and then puts person B's name on the list out of spite. Abuse of such a list is far too easy and likely, while the list Akukami started is perfect for warning people when a item is duped and thus not a good trade. He describes it better then I just did though, in his last paragraph.

Another reason not to put acct names is if the person you got said item from honestly had no idea he was trading a dupe that he purchased from someone else.

BTW there are duped gulls on escl ....who the hell dupes uniques!?!?

Need to be very careful now when trading for good items/ soj's people on certain other trade forums are openly selling classic ladder duped/non permed soj's for socketing items

If it's for socking items, then there's really no need to get hyped up over that. I said it before, and I'll say it again: this is the perfect time to be socking your rares with poofer SoJs. Items, however, are a different story, and that's what this thread is for.

yes it is ok if you know what you are getting but...
if someone can dupe soj's and sell them for socketing, then they can dupe any item so one should becareful who you trade with, certainly no account that you have never heard of.

I think that what Akkukami ment was that if you were interested in trading ur items for sojs then now would be a good time because of the value going down. This however, is not the case the other way around. I aggree that if you have some items you have thought about putting a socket into now is the perfect time to do so because doubtfully the price on sojs will get lower unless the duping continues.
