Spamazon the most fun I've had in ages.

Finishing NM now at lv 69 and this is the most fun I've had playing in ages. When people are partied to you they keep asking whos' doing those hydras, volcanos, novas, molten boulders, curses and p novas (that one they can tell) and whats all that crap shooting off you? How do you do that? You will literally look like the 4th of July.

What is a spamazon? It's a strafing zon that spams as much crap as it can on the screen. The spam should however blend with your damage to actually kill stuff.

My basic gear
Dragon armor-Hydras, these things distract monsters like you can't believe and they kill. You have 3 of them on the screen at almost all times.
BOTD Hydra Bow-The poison novas go off like mad to add lots of green to all the pretty red. (I'm doing just over 2000 damage with 400 dex). It's also about the only option if you don't want Faith. AND you DON'T! Cookie cut someplace else.
Helm Delirum-The confuse curse goes off like mad and keeps everything atacking everything but you you're merc and valk. (might switch to andy's later)
Belt-Nos coil. LL, IAS and slow monster to go with 15 str.
Ammy-Cats Eye or Highlords are the choices.
Boots-Waterwalks. I like the life and +dex. May switch to WT for the damage in hell if I need too.
Rings-Raven and Carrion as it adds more Poison Nova's and Tornados.
Gloves-LOH 20 IAS and spam :)

You need to shoot fast as speed=spam. BOTD gives 60 ias, 20ias ammy, 10 belt, 20 gloves which leaves me 10 short for fastest BP I think (you need 120 ais total). Options are a helm with IAS or to go the sigon glove boot route. When I likely switch to andies at lv 83 (if I go that far) I'll drop the nos and raven as well for a Trangs belt (CNBF) and wisp (spam). Another option is to use trangs gloves and belt to up your poison nova damage (25%) and you Hydra damage (+18 FB) by 54%. This route requires 40 IAS on helm which locks you into a IAS jewel Mavs helm which is a good option too.

I'm using a Wrath on switch for the curses and to break immunities and drop bosses.

Merc is act HF (might would work too but I want total safety).
Crown of Thieves, Eth Trechery, with a Destruction eth CA. Why destruction? Well...

23% Chance To Cast Level 12 Volcano On Striking
5% Chance To Cast Level 23 Molten Boulder On Striking
100% Chance To Cast level 45 Meteor When You Die
15% Chance To Cast Level 22 Nova On Attack

To be honest I've never played a safer feeling zon. All the spam and curse and the like keep everything off you. Add more to life and less to dex and this might be a viable HC build.

Or a Silence bow on switch to make her a hot :wink3: Medusa variant. Open up with Silence to blind everything, then go crazy with the BOTD. Switch back to the Wraith for bosses.

you HAVE to get to 75 so you add the torch going off too...please. on a personal note i hated the pnova on botd when i was using it i think silence>botd. it has blind and monsters flee to add to the confusion as well as 75% res and 2 skills.

I thought about it but like the Novas looks more, plus the help from them is greater. Explosive arrow won't work with it because you need to strafe. As for Amp it's nice too. But you can use Wrath to get nice cursing all the time (my switch bow).

Phoenix bow was considered as well but it's slow unless in a mat bow and then the damage is kinda low. Plus the firestorm doesn't stretch as far. It's like the normal druid kind and it might mess up the strafe like it does to zeal.

30 less IAS, so slower
Monster Flee (actaully really slows down the killing)

The Good
75 all res!!! You won't be all negative like me.
Blinding target (which allows you to change helm easily because blind will replace the curses).

I'll move on to Hell today and report on how it does there.

I've tried this on my old bower, just loaded her with ctc on strike/attack items.

It lags... a lot. It wasn't planned to be such a "spamazon", so damage was laughable. Not to mention lvl 1 Strafe.

Oh! Have you tried Ice as well? The 25% chance to frost nova on striking might be fun, and the bow itself is quite nice to use for the HF aura.

She's a little slow in full games in hell. I've had a few more thoughts and observations.

First you can spam a lot of Hydras. I thought it capped at 3 because of the casting delay and that was how many I was seeing in NM. Wrong! IN Hell with groups I got to pound on, I've counted as many as 7 Hydras going at once (it gets hard to count them as heads overlap).

SO I think my new equipment route is going to be the following (only listing changes)
Gloves-Trangs
Belt-Trangs
Helm-selfmade 45 IAS +bonus mods helm.
Ring-I'll change the raven for a good AR dex LL ring.

Merc-As much as I love all the spam he's making (seeing 2 volcano's going and suddenly noticing 2 Molten boalders running in a row is an awesome site) it might be an idea to use infinity on him to max the Hydras' damage. I'll have to wait and see. If I do switch I'd also switch armor to an eth COH and helm to Dream, delirum or the set helm that cast weaken to keep some kind of curse running at almost all times.

Got my botd bow, and dragon armor... Working on a helm for the delirium now (i want it to be a circlet type helm... i'm very superficial)
I was thinking that life will be dangerously low, is delerium 100% necessary? It's nice for crowd control but another helm, (shako) has +life that i think is really needed.

The delirium is so helpful it's not even funny. The only other helm I've thought about is Ondal's Almighty Spired Helm

That would be like 33% DR for your merc. The helm is really about keeping him alive so that he can help pounding and spam. But I don't plan on changing as I like the +2 skills too.

I use magic arrow on physical immunes mostly. Although the switch wrath is handy in some cases it seems best for bosses.

Yep thanks for your help Yossarian, that life seems perfectly acceptable. I just realised the point of this build is not to get hit and use the ctc spells for crowd control, and that is exactly what a Delrium helm is, crowd control :jig:

I had a similar build in .09, using goldstrike and multi arrow. Not sure if that would work nowadays, but that was definetly the most fun I've had with a build.

Heh, I have a strafer using a 'brand' gmb at present - befittingly named the gal Whoooshh. While the explosive arrows don't work with strafe, bone spears do trigger like nobody's business (hence the name). Right now she's using 'chains of honor' and laying of hands with the usual strafer gear for chaosing and pits sometimes, though her speed's a bit low.

To make my build shine you need to strafe fairly fast. On a 10 speed bow you want 80 or 120 IAS. Brand is slow so I think you'd need to add lots of IAS in other places. Gloves, belt, ammy, helm. The Delirum helps this build lots so that rules out helm IAS.

BTW those screen shots were all taken in about 2 minutes. I just moved to another area and took another. Those aren't "Oh wow" screenies. That's what it looks like most of the time.

Cant remember the stats off the top of my head, but would 'Ice' be a good option with is frost nova spams? Not to mention the Holy Freeze aura you could spring for a diff merc with defiance or might for more dmg, etc. The frost nova could slow down the monsters to a crawl and allow for your hydras to hit them more as well as your own dmg and such.

Just a thought, and assuming it would shoot quick enough.

I believe this type of 'zon is called a Procazon. You know, an Amazon who uses Strafe's fast speed with heaps of CTC skills. That's a Procazon

That was the first bow I looked at. The problem with it though is that the pure damage is just way too low. The frost nova's (with the bow mods) only do about 100 damage each. If you were in NM and not hell Ice/dragon works well and is really pretty.
