how much peirce is needed?

If you're gonna use a razortail I believe its 6 or 9 hardpoints. If not, then however high it is until you start getting diminishing returns.

I don't think i will be using razor tail, i'll probably use tgods, anyone know a good number to aim for? isn't 85% max?

You can get 100% pierce.

33% Razortail + Lvl 9 Pierce (69%)

100% is good - however if you intend to not use Razortail, then strive for the highest you can get through + to skills and investment. It couples very nicely with LF.

If its for PvM, I strongly reccomend Razortail. If you are making a hybrid, both arrows and javelins will benefit very much from 100%Pierce.

Razortail is better in crowded areas like cows because piercing has a greater impact then, else T-God's is probably better for a javazon.

There is no cap on piercing, but more than 100% is useless, of course.
