I had these Smite IAS tables lying around... The "/" means OR and the "+" means AND.. I hope it helps  The PB is way better, because it will hit the last breakpoint and has a lot more damage.. And yes, the 300 ED from Fortitude will work with smite.

I'm not responsable for any errors in the table

is this pvm or pvp? for pvp I would say that pb is superiour because it is faster and it is easier to counter slow effects from items or holyfreeze. Ba is only better for range.

Fortitude does work with smite but given how strong a grief powered smite is I would take enigma for tele/frw 2 skills etc

Grief PB is NOT superior than Grief Zerk in PvP, With 20IAS Gloves you can reach 6FPA Smite with a Zerk as well, and in PvP, range is your friend.

What's the point of having a little more range vs zons and casters? You will be close and they will try to get away, so you'll either charge or tele to get close to them again if they get away. IMO, the only time BA > PB is vs other smiters and wwbarbs. But they usualy have acces to slow and holy freeze, so unless there are rules about holy freeze and slow, I would go with PB

isnt a phase blade faster than a zerker though?? oh but because of the range its good also right?

Your a Smiter so weapon range is moot. Go with the fastest weapon and most damage. Any Grief PB (even 30% IAS) will reach the fastest break point with level 20 fanaticism. Not the case with a Zerker.
In addition to the speed, the PB is almost perfect plus damage which will be added directly to your smite. The Zerker's plus damage is far lower.

are you sure it makes no difference when facing holy freeze flashing or dual dooms from barb :wink3: It makes a lot of difference because you need to stack less ias to retain speed. Crucial in smite vs smite and useful in other situations as well.

Also, range is not that much of an issue for tele-smite.

Last argument for pb would be no repair cost which is the icing on the cake really.

You can easily have both griefs so I usually just use pb as main and zerker at times.

PB:
Generaly used by the cookiecutters, Fort/Grief pb etc. Better known as shiftsmiters.

Speed ( with 20ias/kb gloves) doesnt encounter probs with Holy Freeze/Clegs

BA:

Longer range, ( it does matter when trying to beat bvc's/trapsins/ giving atleast that little extra boosts to even think of coming near a hammerdin )

Better applicable with teleport: the extra range allows for a missed/sloppy teleport and still manage to hit.

doesnt really matter against bvcs because they out range you even if you have zerker. WW clipping is > range 3 zerk. and a good smiter wouldnt shift smite against a bvc anyways. Hed desync around and smite or tele to the direction of the barbs whirl and smite.
