hi,

I was thinking of making a LLD Smiter and have a few questions about what adds to smite damage:

So - do any of the following add to smite?

1. +Max from jewels add to smite.
2. +Max from charms
3. %ED from Jewels
4. Elemental Damage from Auras like Holy Fire
5. Elemental damage from weapon (e.g. socked PGs/Runes)
6. Elemental damage from charms
7. Elemental damage from jewels (20/2 poison jewels for example)
8. Enchant :D

Sorry to hit with so many quickfire questions but I would really appreciate any help.

Thank you.

1: No.
2: No.
3: Yes, only if it's not on the weapon. I.E. if it's on the Helm, Shield or Armor, it will add to total off-weapon ed%
4, 5, 6, 7, 8: No, any elemental damage will not add to Smite.

You probably should have added as well:

9. Venom?
9: No...

Hah at least you havn't made it yet...I remember my first smiter, back when I first started playing, I saved all my points for holy fire :(. Then I tried to 'vanquish' my enemies with my great holy fire aura+smite, only to find that I did like 2-6 smite damage plus 1.5-3.5 pulse damage!!!

But a remember reading an old pre-1.09 PvP smiter guide, which used maxed holy freeze as well as max fanat. He used holy freeze to chill fast casters/ww barbs etc then switched to fanat to finish them off with smite. But in 1.11b you'd probably want defiance before holy freeze, but for an LLD smiter maybe you could drop 1 pt into holy freeze for the purposes shown above...
