I cant decide!

Well, after reading many of the guides, im still undecided on what to build.

Looking to take on hell chaos runs. I have a faith merc bow(14 fanat), WF, and an ice mat. I was looking over wmeredith's one bad bowie writeup, and i gotta admit that looks pretty dang fun. Here is the question tho... would that same build be viable with an ice or WF as its main bow as long as I got an act1 faith merc? I dont have too many rescources to get all the gear for an a2 merc, so I was hoping to just stick with the faith merc.

Im thinking that it would be better to use the WF as my main, but im really geeking out about how cool the Ice RW is...

Use your a1 rogue merc wielding faith with Ice. The boost to bow skills from the ama bows are going to boost your freezing arrow damage. Ice bow has so many mods that boost cold damage, it does not make sense to use WF with cold skills if you have Ice bow already.

I'd go a pure physical build instead: Act1 Merc with Faith and you with Windforce, focus on Multiple Shot.

Reason is in the Chaos Sanctuary you won't meet Physical Immunes (if any boss is, just Magic Arrow it), while Cold Immunes are very common (Seal bosses and all Oblivion Knights, plus some monsters in the river you walk the way up).

Ice on you, plus a Faith on the merc, will also work very well on a Freezing Arrow build. Most monster packs in there can be killed easily with FA, you'll just be a little slower than the physical build because you'll have to deal with Cold Immunes using Guided Arrow or other physical skill of your choice (speed up the kills by switching to Windforce for the physical damage boost).
