making a barb, question about frenzy

is it a good build, frenzy? i was just wondering cause i am looking into making a frenzy barb, wats a good weapon combo? i was thinking maby duel ebotd zerkers.

how does this build compair to a whirlwind build, pros cons?

I think a good frenzy build can be used to do Ubers fairly well with.

That's why I'm making a frenzy barb right now, to do Uber runs. It's my first barb and not ready to uber with yet but the general consensus on the boards is that at least for ubering the frenzy barb is superior to the WW barb.

And! the frenzy barb has been loads of fun to play with so far, which is the most important thing.

From the past, I heard Eth Death Zerk and Beast Zerk was a decent combo

I'm suspecting that the Crushing blow from Eth DeathZ and the Aura from BeastZ would really help out your damage

2x Eth Stormlashs is a pretty decent choice as well

The best runeword combo to use is eBreath of the Dying on your main hand and eDeath on your offhand, especially if running ubers. The huge Crushing Blow and other such mods on Death are essential, while BotD gives crazy fast speed, life leech, +30 all attributes, etc.

Perhaps the most important part is that they are both indestructible so you get the ethereal damage bonus from both and they never need to be repaired.

If you're not running ubers, then something like dual BotDs is fine because standard PvM doesn't demand perfection.

Frenzy is a super fun build every time my accounts expires (im lazy) I always remake a frenzy barb. Last time i went swords this time I might go zerkers who knows. To me it is a lot more fun then a WW build and I love charging into the heat of battle...

as for weapons BOTD is always a good choice in one hand and Death works well also...

I was also maybe thinking of using Last wish for Ubers since I have one on a mule around 70% CB and the Might Aura should help make up for the etheral Death who knows...

Any thoughs on Last Wish over death?

I've got a frenzy barb using LW Zerker and Beast ettins. The ettins give slightly more damage and still gets fastest speed. I think the LW is the safest way to play, fade is nice and life tap has saved my skin and my merc several times. It might be a bit slower than BoTD/Death but if you hit a lag spike you should still survive from the life tap. My barb can take on anything including Chaos runs (have 1 point in Bezerk for this).
However if i was building on a budget I'd go sword and go for grief PB and lightsabre for light absorb. The only really high item you need is one weapon and i think grief PB works nicely in this role. A few moderate uniques and the ubers should drop nicely.

Edit: Also if you go sword you can mf with dual Ali's

Spankeh will want to jump in on this, but Last Wish is good for Ubers as sort of a safety net. It allows you to cast Life Tap on your main weapon, which will obviously keep you alive much easier. However, Last Wish isn't indestructible and is likely to break on you during an Uber run if you're using Frenzy.

Death, on the other hand, is indestructible and has huge Crushing Blow and Deadly Strike stats. Using Death over Last Wish then also frees you up to use Lawbringer as a switch weapon in order to cast Decrepify, which allows for much faster kills.

A lot of this is personal preference and Last Wish is still a good Uber weapon, but it's a fail safe rather than a true strategy if you ask me.

It was a eth glitched item from 1.10 or something, they socketed zod into the 6 socket eth Zerk and unsocketed again(now indestructable) and then they put LW runes in it.

This glitch no-longer works now, I think some of the eth glitched items that has already been made might still exist in games. These are super rare now.

People might duped them, but its up to the owner of the item.

Non-ladder East, we see Eth glitched chaos everywhere now...duped.

Going LWz is probably a very good weapon choice if you have never frenzied before. Good power, safety, resists, and crushing blow, will help you along nicely, specially for your first few times in ubertrist.
Sometime down the track, youll probably want more killing speed, and this is where we take out LW, and implement other interesting weapon combos.
Till then, LW is a good weapon while your feeling out the frenzy skill.
