why is a GMB better than a 4sox hydra bow

thats why Ices are made in Mat bows

Hydra bows acctually have the same speed as GMB. Btw crusader > hydra, same damage but lower reqs make it a better choise.

Great bow has the highest damage of the non amazon bows that also have the highest base speed, however matri has the same speed, better damage and the 1-3 bow skill bonus. This making it the most common choise for non physical bowzons I would think.

If you're making an Ice bow, you're probably making a Frostmaiden, in which case the +bow skills does result in significantly higher damage.

Hydra bows don't deal more damage than GMBs. Perhaps you are talking about maximum damage, but that's not the right number to compare items with, or would you say that a weapon with 1-100 damage is better than one with 80-90 damage, for example ?

Hydra bow: 39 damage average, GMB: 43 average

Great bow are the second worst elite bows with respect to damage, only blade bow are worse. However, they are very fast which is very useful if you don't have a zon skill like strafe or if physical damage isn't that important. In addition, they will get 4 sockets from Larzuk.

If you want to make an Ice bow for a zon, I recommend a matriarchal bow, as already said. It's as fast as a great bow, it deals more average damage and it has up to +3 to bow skills.
