i've just started considering try my luck at crafting.
I'm basically new to crafting so could someone plz tell me wat the best things to craft were?(i was thinking caster ammys & rings?).

I like to craft for fun and do it a lot. I am no great master, just like doing it and have some experience with it. If you are asking what to craft to have a decent chance of getting something that is worth a lot there are only a few items I consider worth doing for that purpose. Ammys, Rings, and two types of gloves (the ones that give either Knockback or Crushing Blow). With any of those if you craft enough of them with a high level character you will eventually get something just totally awesome and that people will pay a lot for.

Other items I sometime craft too use myself, which should be worth a lot but nobody wants, are Vampirefang Belts (caster belts) and Great Haurberk armor. You can make some pretty amazing caster belts that should be worth a fortune, but nobody wants:-( You can wind up with very high def GH armor (1500+) with some pretty nice mods that is actually hellworthy. Every reset I usually wind up with a crafted 1500+ GH that most of my characters use until they get "their armor". But I mostly just do that out of old habit:-)

Not off the top of my head. I use Arreat's Summit for all that kind of info. Just type that into Yahoo and you find it. Crafting is under Items.

Sometimes when I get really bored I make a would character that uses only crafted items. That is really fun. You really can make a very good character using only crafted stuff if you socket them smartly.

Crafted only nec is fun to make cause you can craft wands:-)

I would stick to caster amulets, belt, boots, knockback gloves and open wound belts.

the last glove recipe he gave you was blood, thats the Crushing Blow recipe, still a good recipe but not very likely to givey ou kb at all ^^.

Not sure if you are aware because i wasnt at first, your character level and the leve of the item you ar crafting matter as well, so now when i craft i take my lvl 94 light sorc through the world stone keep and pick up the amulets/rings/elite armors then craft those, its somewhat a pain but ive gotten some good stuff.

Also anyone know why one of my amulets which has crap mods has req. lvl 98 its like +1 druid 10fcr, 10 str, 10 life, and something useless

You probably got charges of something on it, those can ruin it. That or too much leech. I rolled a nice +2nec, 10fcr ammy but it had so much ll and ml that it bumped it to lvl95 req.

the only way to get 25 str on a ring is a blood ring. you get 20+ str and fcr on one of those= rich like me

would it be possible for a sorc to craft an item that would have life tap on it? I could really use life tap for the sake of my merc but I'd hate to either invest skill points in frozen armor as a result of giving up my current switch item.

I've never seen Lifetap spawn on any crafted items. only Exile,Dracs,Last Wish and rare and magic Necro wands have I seen this spell and the first 3 are melee attacks ctc.

daggers and wands can have charges of lifetap yes

on your mercenary you can equip a Last Wish to let him cast it for himself (if you are rich enough and if you use a melee merc)

Well with all the lag these days i confess that i have been idling away with gambling, cubing and crafting :P Caster belts are really awesome until you get a unique spidersash. Some crafts my nigma summon necro got:

Other than these i craft caster ammys, blood rings and blood Feral and Champion Axes for future druid projects...no luck yet :(
