I'm a lvl50 poisnecro solo-running the maggot lair, level 2 (Nightmare).
One of my helm's random mods that I don't care much for but I haven't found anything better yet is the ol' "10% chance to cast lvl5 frost nova when struck."
So I'm running down this hallway when one of the maggots strikes me, activating the nova. The nova kills it instantly, rounds the corner of the hallway and continues killing everything down that hallway (its now going WAY past what a normal nova's range is). Unfortunately, this uber-nova runs into a dead end room and stops spreading, but it did kill everything in this room as well.
Has this ever happened to anybody else? It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen, and pretty sweet as I got the exp for it!

weird, never heard of it. sorry for spam. im just marking this so i can see what it is if someone figures it out.
I guess something went wrong at the server, turning it into a different missile with a much larger range and a lot more dmg, but you still see the frost nova as that's all the information you have client-side. Still funny how it did not turn into an invisible wave, but kept the Frost Nova look.
Agree with RTB, strange that it showed since there shouldn't have been any animations for such a nova. Are you sure it looked like a frostnova all the way and didn't dissapear after finnishing it's normal radius?

No, I couldn't see it anymore since it rounded the corner. I could just see its light radius (I guess is the best term to use here) heading down the hall and when I turned the corner they were all dead.

Well, I've been hit again and its activated, but no, I haven't seen it again unfortunately.
Hmm, probably lost it's displayed animation but still continued, even without animation spells would probably have a light radius, atleast for the user who casts it.
Then again, I'm no expert on these matters :azn:
Funny occurance, but doubt it will happen again anytime soon, still pretty cool :smiley:
