making the eth bug armor/shields? plz tell me how

Hi all,

Last time i saw a 3400 defense ethereal Fortitude for a merc, and also an ethereal Exile shield with about 1k defense and 40 resist. How do people make these? It has something to do with the Horadric cube and a base item with ethereal but no sockets?? They say these items are bugged...

plz give me a detailed description how they do that.... Thx alot!!!!!

Use the cube recipe to socket an ethereal armor, helm, or shield. The eth bonus will be reapplied, resulting in an armor with higher than usual defense.

so there is a chance that i get an item with an amounts of sockets that i do not want, when u try to make such an item? (Because the cube recipe gives an amount between 1-4 sox for example, with a certain % of chance that it is 1,2,3 or 4 socks right?)

Exactly. In order to get the high defense, you need to take a little risk. So you may get a 1 socket armor/shield/helm, it's pure chance.
