Most people ask someone to trade, then when they get to the trade screen they quickly exit that game (Esc,Esc,S & E). That's suppose to keep your runes from "poofing" for at least one more game.

But its basically all luck. No method of perming has been proven to work 100% of the time and keep your HRs from poofing. Best way to keep them is to socket them quick.

Perm is a myth created by dupers so that people will buy their tainted product. Perm does not exist. The only way to make sure your gear doesn't poof is to not trade for duped gear.

How exactly do dupers manage duped items then?
How do they get hundreds of hrs and items in stock?

There has to be a way to temporarily perm your stuff, otherwise they would all just disappear in the next game.
I know when I trade for a lot of hrs and keep "temp perming", none of them have disappeared yet, and I do trade for them quite often.

Let's say you have a dupped rune. If you leave it in your stash/inventory ever time you join a game there is a chance (not 100%) that the item will vanish. It may not happen the first game you join, it may be the 10th, 100th or 10,000th game. It's purely random.

So the dupers simply take the risk of losing a few HRs (that they can easily replace) by holding so many at a time.

And no, there really isn't a way to perm or temp perm duped items. Somewhere down the road they will vanish.

Sure runes might not poof if you just normally play the game and keep them in your stash, but the chances are higher (that they poof) that way.

brualness, Of course it doesn't work if you do it wrong.

I don't really care much if you guys don't believe in it, I know my stuff won't poof when I temp perm, have done it so many times and no poofings here.

afaik duped items poof when on the same server as their counterpart, with server meaning the same ip (as when DC spawns) I don't know whether the check is done upon entry or upon exit, or whether both copis poof or just one of them.

However to avoid tears...

1. Don't trade for HRs unless you can afford losing them.
2. When having HRs avoid joining unnecessary games with char holding them.
3. Put them in sockets.
4. Remember to be grateful when ruststorm comes, despite you being ruined.

They dupe from different parent runes, avoid combining runes from the same dupe-family on the same character, and don't unnecessarily join/leave games. And dupers still get tons of poofage, but they don't care because they can always just dupe more.

First off, dupes don't disappear every game, they only have a CHANCE of disappearing. That chance is greatly increased if you constantly exit/leave games. Despite your anecdotal evidence, perming DOES NOT work.

If you're so certain that perming works, I have a challenge for you. Put all of your HRs on a single character, and spend a couple of hours doing nothing but joining and leaving games every 5 minutes. Be sure to tell us how many runes you still have at the end of those 2 hours.

I understand what you're saying but I don't believe you know enough about the game to say there's absolutely no way, why wouldn't there be?
..And I know dupes don't disappear in every game :rolleyes:

I also see those people perming who *can* dupe and have been doing it for quite some time.
I don't personally think it's all nonsense.

It's not like it takes time or effort to "perm" before you leave anyways so might as well do it.
