Yeah... but those don't really count as the ruststorm. XD

**The "Ladder only" just means you can only MAKE them on ladder.

Passive Ruststorm is run constantly.

Active Ruststorm is the big one and is run quite rarely. When? Whenever Bliz wants to run it. Usually before a ladder reset.

so if thats true, than no player in nl would have grief or anything:grin: because of duped runes right? they would dissapear before u get xeferd to nl right?

There are probably a few legit Griefs and other high runes out there, so everything won't disappear. Ruststorm is effective, but I severly doubt it catches all of the dupes. It will get a vast majority, but since it's bound to miss a few that would be by some people are collecting a few types of runewords, hoping at least one survives Ruststorm.

Yes, if you have legit (selfound) runewords they should be fine.

However the duped runewords have a decent chance of disappearing. That's not to say they all do however, just lots of them.

Wow, so i guess all my nl chars might be stripped naked, not sure of legimacy of the runes

What if the only runes I trade for are ones I use to upgrade armor and weapons (i.e. they disappear after I have used them in the cube anyway)?

uping runes are probably legit most expensive is uping a rare exceptional weapon to elite (fal+um+p sapphire)

i doubt the item would poof anyway, the rune is gone

Start collecting Upped Hoz, Gore 200%, Hotspurs 20%, perfect Magefist,
then Lad items like eth Reapers. Once it resets, these will not desappear and still be highly in demand on NL, giving u wealth to buy legit Lad runewords.

I wouldn't upgrade exceptional rares in ladder, as that recipe works on NL as well. However, only on ladder you can upgrade exceptional uniques to elite, so that's what you should do on ladder.

Examples:

Titan's
HoZ

Even though it might not always be a good idea to upgrade these two weapons, it's worth it to upgrade them before the ladder resets, as the demands for these items is naturally far higher on NL.

Apart from that, making ladder runewords is a good idea, although there are so many HRs that this might not have the expected result after the reset.

The more popular something is, the more often it will get duped which means that in the end, everything will be worth about the same. With respect to runes from Um on we are more or less that far. For some reason, Mal is worth more, but IMO that's just a psychological issue.
