First, i'm a new forum member, though i've been kickin around here as a guest reading posts for a long time. so, hey.

Anyway, a few questions about chanters. obviously, max chant and warmth for synergy. Does fire mast affect enchant dmg? And can i put points in something like fball, so i can still kill(for leveling)? where should i put stats? vit for lvling? dont really need that much mana, and str/dex obviously no point, except enough for gear. And as for gear, should i go for as much +skills as possible, or something more balanced? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Fire mastery has double effect on the chanter themselves so very important to max.

As how to stat/equip to actually to lvl i dont know i just make a chanter to help boost low level chars.
For equip i would expect you should carry as much +skills as you can for the actually chant then switch to gear that helps you survive/kill.

Find out most of what u need to know about the enchantress right here, from the thread 3 months ago:

http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=500337

Now whether the listed damage is correct, with double application of fire mastery, has been disputed. You definitely want to max that skill, along with enchant and warmth. Like some of us posters said in that thread, a good static and some orb are very nice to back up this skill. And u really can level up all by yourself using just enchant, either with a weapon such as a shard or, if you feel uncomfortable doing melee, a bow like raven claw.

In a just Diablo world, u could enchant a barb and he could dual wield and throw pots, just like the act2 cats can. Now that would be fun, heehee, but it's too clever for Blizzard to come around to that kind of thinking.

from the other thread
it would be super amusing to me, to see a sorc, with a chanted staff doing a WW type attack...

I think one could have the zeal attack in lod? or maybe even WW on any class
that was the only thing, that would make me play LOD
(perhaps apart from clone)

Nope. Nor does it help Necromages.

Nope. Nor does it help Necromages.By saying that, do you mean it DOES help Necroskelletons i.e the normal Warrior variety? Imagine that...10-15 skellies doing 1.5k fire dmg each!

Yes, a bunch of enchanted skellies is great. One nice thing is that they can be enchanted in town, like mercs, but unlike characters. The problem is that they move around a ton and you can't really tell which ones are already enchanted. Usually what I do is have the enchantress stand next to Akara or whomever and just keep enchanting and getting healed (for mana) until I'm pretty sure I got most of them.

As an experiment, I made a summoner in 1.10 LS1 who planned always to be with one of my enchantresses. So he maximized Lower Resist instead of Amp and that worked pretty well.

Afaik I have to be outside town with my enchantress to cast the enchant spell. Whom or whatever it is cast on can be inside town, aslong as I can see them.

Give it a try- you can enchant skellies, revives, merc, golems and valks if both of you are in town. You can enchant other characters if one of you is in town and the other is out of town- otherwise it thinks you are trying to trade. It's great to be standing next to Akara/Fara/etc for enchanting summoned mobs because of the mana issue.

This is handy to know. I'll take your word for it as you have not led people astray before. :)
But when I get a chance I shall make handy use of this.

when making chanters, I usually keep a pward, twitch, and shard handy, and just lvl by performing teleport duty for cs runs.

neither my ladder, or non-ladder chanters have any meaningful attack outside of chanting self and using an rclaw, but both have chant, and all meaningful synergies maxed.

both use a +2/+3 stick, +2 shopped ammy, tarn, silk, magefist and are capped at lvl 67.

with a chant, one can easily get a brand new character to lvl 20 inside of 15 minutes.

my personal record is something like lvl 38 for a new char, non-permed.

Aha- someone else who takes pleasure in such silliness! I have had non-permed lvl 35+ characters and I had no idea there was anyone else who thought about these kinds of things...
