I've been trying to get away from the cookie cutter builds, and this skill struck me as one that would be fun. Even if no one has tried it, some gear suggestions would be nice as well as skill allocations. Would it be sufficient to have 1pt. ww and leap attack/ww away, repeat? Or is it just purely better to max ww and do the same with 1pt leap attack? Would a 2h wep be better for increased damage or should I use 2 1h weapons? or 1h weapon and a shield?
Any input is appreciated.
There is like no way you're gonna hit somebody with leap attack.
(Unless they are away or typing or something.)

How so? I was under the impression that it works like teleport, locking on to the character, am I wrong? Or is it that it's just too dang slow? Either way, I'll probably make this for pvm then.

leap attack suck because it's slooooooooooooooow
it's hard to even hit moving monsters with it, much less another player
if you wanna leap around then max leap instead, it's much better bc you will knockback enemies but leaping is still way to predictable in pvp

Pvm it is, another question, does increased fr/w increase leap speed? :lipsrsealed: Also, does ias help at all with leap attack?

Nope. There is absolutely, positively NO WAY to increase leaping speed.

Alright, one last question, is it possible to telly on to a monster/player, and then leap attack when you're already near them? Or do you have to leap from a distance?
If you do Leap Attack from very close, it will be a normal attack (but with the damage and AR calculations I believe) for Leap Attack. But that beats the entire purpose of jumping in the first place.

You believe incorrectly. If you try to leap attack from close range, you will just perform a normal attack. You *will not* get the benefit of the +AR or ED%. Basically, it sucks and you don't want to do it if at all possible.

Well pretty much ruins the attack then, might make one for fun anyway, lol. Thanks for all the input.

*sigh*
For PvM its very viable... I build a few hardcore barbarian Leapers. Use a Mace or a Pike-class weapon... lots of damage, decent range.
PvP... well... yes, actually, Leapers can be good, in Hardcore, where you kill people with max damage fluctuations. I don't see it working in SC properly. But for a Leaper to be any good you have to be really really really good at the short-hop-technique, and that requires a lot of time. An eth obidience polearm could dish out up to 4K PvP, quite a lot actually.. But its tough going hitting opponents with Enigma. The suggested approach would be leap-leapattack, as then your opponent is stunned.
I killed quite a few people with Leaper barbies in hardcore, but it requires a lot of skill and a lot of luck and timing.
edit: shorthop: shift+leap attack. That way you can hop a small circle around a monster and constantly hit it with your attack. As you are not targetting anyone or anything, the shift-attack attacks whatever is in range. This same technique can be used on players. Try shift+leap on the spot and you'll see what I mean. Requires a lot of practice to do properly though.
