Hello. This is my first post. I only read stuff here until now , but I've just stumbled upon a very disappointing bug with my Barb and I wonder if anybody knows about this..
It's not the first time this happened to me.. Another time it happened with the Throwing Mastery (around lvl 7-8) , and now with the Spear Mastery (lvl 4-5)
The stupid bug is that when I put the point in my skill , my damage , instead of going +damage , it goes -damage , and I remember that at the Throwing Mastery the Attack Rating also went - intead of + ... It is distasteful to see that you spend a hard worked point into a skill , only to do you harm, instead of good.
I am thinking of deleting diablo from my comp for this reason. I am very disappointed. I wonder if anybody knows about this and if it can be avoided in some way. Thanks

I've never heard about such bug, although I'm no expert in barb either. Are you sure you compared the damages under same condition? It is quite common for barbs to forget about the +1 skill from Battle Command, which can mess up with the comparison.
Do you only play Multiplayer and didn't patch the game? To do this, connect to Battle.net and you'll receive the update and an auto-install automatically. That might solve it. Otherwise I wouldn't know...

Oh, I already have the 1.11 version.. But to be honest, I have a cracked game. Can bugs occur in cracked versions only?
I'm absolutely positive. This barb is low level, started today so there is no battle command, no bonuses, etc.. Plain simple 28-40 phisical damage turned to 27-39 right when I press the click to the Spear Mastery lvl 4. The first 3 levels it worked as specified. I will test this further . I would greatly apreciate if somebody tried this out.
By the way , did I mention, I play Single Player, though I don't think it has any relevance.
It would be great if someone tested it. Though I don't think anyone will, because you use a cracked game. Something that it not supported by this forum, and that probably no-one has around here. (Or no-one tells about it*).
So what to do. Just hope that it is just the lying character screen that *** with you, don't create barbarians anymore. Or get you somewhere a legit game, who knows what is messed up during the crack.
*: have you read the rules? If not, do so fast and pray. on top of this page.
Perhaps you should try this on Battle.net. I doubt this bug is possible online, because that would mean people could hack Diablo and get unreal characters.
Or IS that possible :soapbox:
EDIT: Wait, you can't get online...

I have a full fledged ww barb with maces with a lvl 20 skill point
i have not noticed this issue at all when building him.
now if you change weapons that will have an effect but as you add points it will not go down.
since you have a cracked game that is probably the problem right there. there are some bugs from the crack that is causing it not to function correctly.

Yes,:embarassed: I am not proud of myself for having it cracked but I really don' t have money to buy it,I live in a poor country. I hope I don't get banned just for this.. though it would be reasonable if I do. At least thanks for not throwing stones at me:smiley:
Also, I don't encourage anyone to use cracked games. It's like using a cracked (or crude ) Weapon or Armour:tongue:
The thing is that my game works perfect except this. I have not encountered any other bugs with the other characters. I have had High level Amazons, Sorcs, Necros, And Pallys and never come across such an obvious error. So, I have had reasons to believe that the cracked version works ok.
Just wanted to post my experience.. I for one really hope it's just in cracked versions.. But just in case I wanted to let others know about it. I have re-tryed the thing and It always happens at Throwing and Spear Masteries at least. Don't know about the other masteries.

I will test this. my brother has a cracked version on his computer (cant play online either). just give me a few days to get home and settled after christmas/new year.

Make sure you don't have any elemental damage from somewhere. Sometimes, when the physical damage values in the LCS change, the elemental damage values will get forgotten. Unequipping and re-equipping your weapon should solve that. The bug has no in-game effects, it's simply a display bug.
