A few easy questions on WW barbs

I haven't really done Barbs yet, and thought I'd give WW a try. The guides I read recommend the use of a shield, but I'm actually thinking about dual weapons (probably axes because the look coolest). I'm playing PvM only, mainly single player.

1. Do WW barbs only use WW, or do they also use normal attack? Do you ever run out of mana and need another attack, or is some mana steal enough to keep you whirling?
2. Does it make sense to combine WW with 9 pts (incl. gear bonus) in Double Swing?
3. Has anybody every built a WW-Frenzy build, with both maxed? Of is that just a waste because you'll only use one skill anyway?
4. If I don't use a shield, is there any point in getting dexterity above gear requirement, will my AR be sufficient?
5. Do I need Shout if I only do PvM?

Welcome to the Barb class ^^

1) For Physical Immunes and those Iron Maiden moments most barbs use beserk which basically converts your physical dmg to magic damage ^^
2) Its not nonsensical to do so but that would be for a double swing build
3) Never tried but you are right in that one skill is mostly used
4) No dex = even more life after BO :P AR could be easily had with charms, enchant from demonlimb, angelic combo and besides for PvM you dun need godly AR anyway
5) It's nice but not compulsory

If u decide to make a magic-cum-goldfind barb and select specific areas i feel it is still rewarding/speedy runs even with really low budget gear ^^ Item find is such a juicy skill for this purpose hehe Hoped i helped and happy new year :D

I'll hail ya to the barb class aswell :)

1. Agree with batuchka, and Mana leech wont be a problem in General PvM, u need some to keep on ww'ing though ;)
2. Doesnt make sence to me tbh, for a pvm barb i'd use a 2h big dmg weapon anyway :)
3. As answered on q #2 im answering: for PvM i would use a big 2h for high dmg ww =)
4. Agree with batuchka here aswell, i used my barb in pvm with ~5-6k ar and had np's with hitting things :)
5. Since its a prereq to bo/bc id buff it together with the other shouts :)

I think I'll go for a Frenzy build first - I prefer a dual weapon build and Frenzy seems to be the best way to go.

your probly wasting time with ds - and ww is the better choice for a 1st time build. if you ever are unsure of someting - check with friends or veterans to Diablo. WW is good - but for 2nd problem - you WILL RUN OUT OF MANA - - -even if you have a man leech on - it wont matter certain hits and monsters can drain allllll of you mana - and ww takes so much to use - that even with the leech - it will take a few secs to get it back up.
