View Full Version : When to go to hell? (noob Q!)
im currently lvl 63 orber with maxed orb/iceb/mastery. im still doing nm cs (alone in private game or in other ppl games) and it still gives me nice xp. but since im new to classic (atleast some what) i was wondering what lvl ppl are moveing on?
my plan is to go to hell and stay in a1 for some time to do andy runs  just to try out if that quest drop bug/thingy works in classic (or was andy bugged alredy? well who cares, thats my plan!).
enlighten me so i wont kill nm diablo too early :flip:
thnx

XP from solo NM CS is too slow. You should move on to hell now. Also, the Andy bug will always trigger even if you already have the quest done, so you don't have to stay in Hell A1 to level.

You probably won't have any trouble soloing hell, so you might as well move into it.

Haha, wow, maybe posting here jinxed me. I soloed NM [all through] today, and killed Diablo without a second thought. Now I'm in hell at level 40.

actually doing hell with an full-ice sorc depends mostly on your having some friends who could help you to kill the immunes in order to do the quests (eg den - some monsters are ice immune there as far as I remember) or you not dying
exp in hell cs is great and you can get to 75-80 pretty fast (actually I think it depends on your killing abilities, because my hammerdin got more points than my warcry barb)
still a level 80 blizzard sorc without some lightning spell (or whatever) will be unable to do some basic quests which give skill points, due to being unable to deal with the immunes
I think it would be better to do hell with a level 50 sorc, because you just get the additional skill points faster so you kill faster; you need the help anyway..
in addition if your sorc has enough FHR and FCR you could just make a public game and teleport across the maps, in order to find the key points - then you would open the tps and other players would come and kill the immunes/etc
The cold immunes in the Den are the only cold immunes you must kill for a skill point, 5 stat points, or advancement in the entire game, aside from Lord de Seis. The ones in Hell can be taken care of by buying a staff with +2 fire wall off of Akara, then pulling a couple zombies at a time to a ledge by some stairs. Yes, it's a slow process, but it makes you able to go through the entire game alone as a pure orber.

Have someone rush you to Hell CS, because I'm almost sure that nothing is immune to ice in CS.

nothing else zpet all oblars and the seise him self
i still run hell cs tho (alone..) its quite easy to fool thos oblars and hit the 2 seals i can do (if no random cols immunity).
im now 73 and yes im in hell etc. im currently running tristam/andy/anc tunnels/meph/all the cs i can do
i tried doing cows and it was just too slow. im thinking of expanding my hunt to all areas on act4 that i can do. but that needs some luck to go (for non big cold immune spawnings).
also im still kind of unsure with what to go. i have maxed orb/sync/mastery. the guide told me to max out teleport but dont really know if i should do that. im alredy potting to cast orbs so why not for teleing? they are cheap as it is and in classic there is no charms to fill out the inventory :fortuneteller:
should i just get something like firewall or thunderstorm to go with orb? and how about frozen armor? that should negolate some of the FHR needed. i currently have something like 10 :prop:
im doing ok when running solo but could i do better if getting another spell to cast? maybe i could hit the big D?
any input would be more than welcome!

you'd batter save up some spare points if you want a working backup skill

apart from chaos knights and seis
i wouldn't put more than 5-10 points in tele, because i am used to teleing on pot refilling my bulb, when i put too much points in tele the bulb filled instantly and i ended up using the same amount of pots, even worse when i hit mana burn monster it takes me 1/3 of a second to hit pot, which led to some embarrasing deaths on my way to cs (all skill from counter strike withered away  )
with 1 point in tele, im always on one or two pots, so this isn't a problem, i get hit and tele before 2nd blow

with 20 points in tele and a few +skills my sorc keeps teleporting at 70 fcr even when manaburned. quite handy. :)
I guess these are points to ponder.
