There was a time when our world was pure. When the realm of our existence was rich in honor and pride. We - guardians of nature - rivalled any of the other races in numbers and strength. We were more than just Druids, we were Shape Shifters; the warrior-kings of our tribes. We travelled, from grove to grove, for only one purpose; dueling. We strived to push our mental and physical capabilities past their limits. It was the hunger for the fruitions upon being the victor that drove us. It was the honor, it was the pride. Champions were born and Legends were made. These were our days - The Days of the Shape Shifters. But there was something else, besides the honor and pride that drove us. It was the relationships we made with eachother, the friendships, the memories we would have forever, and the stories we would tell the young ones of our tribes.
These days though, were doomed to remain only stories. There was a trouble - more than that of the prime evils - we failed to notice; not just us Druids, but everyone. A mysterious magic from without our realm began to darken our bright days of glory. Once magnificent and rare items began to appear in the hands of everyone. The ability to take a finely crafted weapon and turn it into a thousand more plagued our world. Power could be achieved over night.
Even when lacking in wit and skill, one could still swing the bigger sword if they payed the right price. Honor and pride were forgotten facets of dueling. Dueling... was no longer dueling.
Our economy was turned upside down. Our world was lost in a lust for power. Once simple farmers were now vicious war lords rampaging across the realm leaving a trail of blood and sorrow. It was all the gods could do to spare what was left of this world, when they altered the existence and every aspect of our lives. It was as if the world was recreated over night... and it was never the same.
These days though, were doomed to remain only stories... until now =D
lol, ok, enough of this corny intro, now i give you the real deal ^^
Welcome to the Blue Dueling Leaque, A legit and honorable ring of duelers!! Its time to show your ingenuity and knowledge of the shape shifter druid. Time to be unique in your items and have some fun!! The difference between this dueling league and others is that only magical items are allowed n_n
You'll have to pick and choose the pros and cons of your build. and the pros will always have cons =D
now for the rules -
This League is UsWest
Blue Dueling League Main Rules
1) Druid Shape-Shifters (Werewolves and Werebears) only*. Duelers must remain in wereform at all times (e.g. duelers cannot shift into human form and teleport). All summons are allowed.
2) The character level cap is 80.
3) Only magical (blue text) items are allowed.
4) No charms, including the Annihulus and Torch charms, may be used.
5) Only magical jewels, not rare and unique jewels, are allowed.
6) Only runes from EL to FAL, with the exception of CHAM and ZOD, are allowed.
7) All gems are allowed.
*For now, only Druids may participate in this league. However, we are looking to expand to include other character classes as well.
General Honorable PvP Rules
1) No hacks of any kind (e.g. Maphack is banned).
2) No gold-stealing, no naked-killing, and no bad manners.
3) No healing and mana potions may be used.
4) No shrines may be used.
5) Dueling area must be cleared of monsters before dueling starts.
6) Items with charges are allowed, but charges from items may not be used.
7) Duelers cannot return to town after a duel officially starts. A return to town will result in a loss for that round.
7) No mercenaries may participate in duels.
8) If opponent or referee asks a dueler to show equipment, dueler must do so and cannot go to stash between doing so and starting duels.
Other:
-Duels will take place in Nightmare.
-Official Duels will last three rounds.
-If someone challenges another to an official duel and the latter accepts, then the duel will be saved in our records, kind of our own little ladder. You must always have proof of your win, ie a screen shot. Post your screenshot of the win(also with a /time command) in this thread. We will always update the thread with our official ranking of who is in the lead, all the way to the last. Also remember, you do not have to accept official duels. You dont even have to participate in one EVER. You can always challenge a near Blue Dueler to a friendly unranked duel.
-General honorable dueling rules state that if a player drops from a game during a duel, that is an automatic loss for the dropped player.
-If at any time someone request to see all your items and your entire inventory(which must always be full) then you must show them.

Cruel Giant thresher of quickness.
+2 druid helm with +skill life and 2 soccets
i finally shopped a jewelers ancient armor with 37 life.
as for the weapon i have a Cruel Divine Scepter of Swiftness with 1 soccet. 123 dmg and 5 frame ^^. i did shop a cool Cruel Grimscythe of Quickness but only got 1 soccet on it, dang i was mad lol. for helm i got a 3 soccet helm with 30 life. i also got a pair of gloves with 20 dex, have a couple more pairs too if ya need one. and im still looking for a shield ><
there is a guy with a nice cruel cryptic of alacrity whos gonna be doing some dmg ><
only lvl 20 so far so i better go hit up lvling.

As for rushes, are these only druid rushes? I don't have an account on USWest so I started a sorc for gold farming and item buying; however, she's only lvl 18.
direct that question towards vic. he does several public rushed during the week, so im sure you could hop in on one ^^

I think a pure druid shapeshifting dueling league is fine how it is
(includeing charms and uniques and rares)
than we could make a list on this forum looking for the best gear for each build
and have fun with it
resticting it to only blue items is fine with me, but maybe a normal shapeshifting league should be set up also
we can make a list of account names that are up for it eh?

I am thinking about the jewels, and although we are already restricting it to only magical jewels, I am slightly against jewels such as IAS/ED jewels (and other such commonly duped jewels) for the purposes of what this league stands for and because it would be very difficult for non-USWest Ladder players to obtain such jewels.
Any thoughts?

Oh also say that its probably best too go with vvilds current ruels because if we let everyone say what they dont like or etc the ruels are gonna be constanly changed before anyone even starts.
So id say stick with current ruels.

lol since I was the one who worked on the majority of the rules and am still trying to work out the kinks, I just wanted to continue to throw suggestions out. Vvild can still make the final decision as he sees fit though, of course. That said, however, I want this league to be open to others' suggestions.

to scorchedmayo, this league isnt just about being a shapeshifter, its about using magical items. only being able to choose so many advantages and making do with what you have. its about everyones build being unique and different. for others coming to this league from a different realm, all they will need to do is get rushed and start shopping in hell. i have shopped every single one of my items so far. if youd like to start a shapeshift league allowing with a different set of rules please feel free to do so =D

to kiba and mastavic, i believe all ed/ias jewels should be allowed. 40/15s are massivley duped but they are pretty easy to come by. i was trying to find a 35-39ed/ias jewel and the prices are much higher than a 40/15. shopping a decent item or the gems and runes from a blue duelers forge could score the jewels with some ease i think. theres going to be many nice blues coming about as time goes on, CFkoQ Cruel giant thresher of quickn, CPBoQ, that will be soooo tempting to slap some ed/ias into them. i have a few trapper life charms that im going to try and trade for jewels/gems/runes that i could give to the foriegners coming here.
vic did help me a GREAT deal and there still are kinks that will be worked out. i say we go with what we have now and deal with the problems when they arise, which they will lol n_n

i do agree that we all lvl up and start dueling a bit before we change any of the rules that vic and i worked on. i think by then we'll be able to get a better feel for everything and fix the kinks.
and dang that sword again lol.
and to vic, i want to talk to you about a ladder system we could build for the official dueling. maybe when i see ya again on d2.

Its not that getting items require more patience, which in this league it will(especially with no action ><), it that its possible for anyone to get the items without having to have a geared out MFer. Shopping is the term used for checking what the NPCs have for sale. Like myself, ive been trying to find a decent weapon from larzuk lately. Ill check his for sale items and if i dont like what i see ill go through the wp and come back and he will have a whole new set of items for sale. you can buy some pretty godly items for just gold in act 5 if you get lucky ^^

Hey, Everyone,
How's it going? Two quick updates:
1) Free RUSH Tonight. Add *mastavic to your friends list. I am not sure what time I will be rushing, but will do it when I can get at least two or three Blue Dueling League members on at the same time. For the first time in a very long time, I will hold rushes that aren't "completely open to the public," as I will be rushing Blue Dueling League members only tonight to make things as efficient as possible.
2) I just obtained a Jeweler's Ancient Armor of Stability, which is a 4-socket magical armor with +24% faster hit recovery. Screenshot Here (http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/3180/sancientarmorofstabilitft8.jpg). Thus, I do not need the other two armors that I was planning to use, an Artisan's Ancient Armor of the Whale (http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/3479/sancientarmorofthewhalexg3.jpg) (3-socket armor with +83 life), and a Jeweler's Light Plate of the Titan (http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/8990/slightplateofthetitan12uq9.jpg) (3-socket armor with +17 strength). If anyone would like one of them, let me know; I will give it away on a first-come, first-served basis.
By the way, VVild's and Kiba's explanation regarding the use of jewels is fine by me; thanks for taking the time to state your opinions. What jewels would you socket into the Jeweler's Ancient Armor of Stability that I have? =P

and this one is for kiba. as you know, we're all probably id'ing every blue we find. well iam at least. today i picked up a weapon and id'ed it and my jaw literally dropped =[ ] (<--- Dropped jaw). but it didnt end there. i still had to consult with larzuk. and yes kibs, he gave me two soccets. you are in for some trouble with you CCSoS =D
i dont want to say what is yet, not until were all dueling. ill let it be a suprise. but its 1 handed and very fast. ;)

I have spent a total of several hours shopping, but have yet to find anything good. The only equipment I have so far is the Jeweler's Ancient Armor of Stability I posted in a previous reply.
Two questions:
1) I am being told that +40%ED/15 Max Damage jewels exist, although they both seem to be prefixes so that does not seem possible. Can someone clarify this for me? If this isn't possible, what would be the jewel that can add the most to my overall damage?
2) Is it possible for a Cruel Fanged Knife of Quickness to be shopped from Malah (or any NPC) in Act5? I have not even seen a single Fanged Knife on sale.

40ed/15max jewels exist but they are bugged and the ed is nonexistant when not socketed into a weapon from what i heard.
Also you can shop a cruel fanged knife from malah and i think one of the npc's in act4 they are just super super super rare.

Ah, thanks for the information, Kiba. So would that mean 40%ED/10 Minimum Damage jewels, which can be found legitly, would be useless in an armor as well?

I'm pretty sure that bug was only relevent to the ED/MAX jewels. I'm not 100% on it though so someone else should confirm this ^_^;;

Thank you for the information. I tried asking this question in the Statistics forum and, for some reason, am getting more help in here than over there =P I'm guessing that 40%ED/elemental (lightning/fire) damage jewels are bugged as well?

That's the reason I'm only 55. Friend of mine came in from Iowa for Christmas.
Shopping is going bad too. I have only seen 3 PBs. I shop on one cpu and baal on another.

I feel that it is a wonderful idea to have a "blue" dueling group. I also feel that this idea should be spread to other classes. If it's going to stay druid only, still sign me up. *spiel_mit_mir. I trust antidote pots aren't allowed :P.
PS: 40/15s aren't bugged. Ruby jewels of fervor exist.

Ruby is the ed prefix and carnage/wrath/ire are all suffixes. Still not a bugged jewel unless there's coding that says those prefix/suffix cannot spawn.

He means that when you put a 40/max or 40/min jewel into an armour/shield or helm that the ED only applies to the +max/min and not to the overrall weapon damage. That's how I understand it anyway, I could be wrong though. Either way, ED/Max and ED/Min don't work as they should in armours.

Since these are pure shifter battles, do I have to be melee? Or can I use Rabies/Fire Claws instead? I'm on east right now and I don't play very much but this league really intrigues me. I think it should be open to public but then again, we'd get Soceresses teleporting around spamming 15-20k Fireball.

I'd say no to the runewords.... I mean, every1 would just take the easy way out and use 'smoke' and 'rhyme' and it'd suck

i think it should stick to the blue only. that way everyone isnt just getting 6soc PB and shaels or jewels. with the blue only it makes it harder to get socets and a cap of 4soc on everything.

yes you could use fireclaw and rabies. those are both shifters. only downside is it can be hard to get a fast fire claw going. but both those builds are allowed.

theres nothing wrong with spreading the word, just make sure you mention its shapeshifter only. have em read the rules too, it pretty much answers all questions that people will have.

What's a good level for shopping in Elite items:
Jeweler's prefix
Cruel prefix
Fool's prefix
Quickness suffix
Whales suffix
i did all my shopping with a lvl 85 and i have found some awesome items. hopefully someone of more wisdom can give you a definate answer.
by the way, what lvl is everyone at so far? i just hit 56 =D
24 more lvls and a few more items and ill be good to go n_n
still at lvl one, got a lvl 36 farmer sorc now though.... so if you see a sorc in the grove, thatd be why!

Level one for me as well, I've been visiting my friends who came back from boarding school recently :undecided: .
Anyway, would a monarch of deflecting be a strong shield for this blue dueling. My friend just gave me one for free, and I was wondering if I should kill the shenker for a socket.

You have a 1/2 chance of getting 2 sockets vrs a 1/xMillion chance of finding a 3-4 socket blue monarch.
However, monarch requires 154 str and you'll only get 2 sockets max. It would be more prudent to look or buy jeweler's Troll nests or 2os blue grims.

Yep, grims are better in every way except maybe for the def. but even with then you can sometimes find a high def. grim that will pwn just about anything in the game, I use 30/20 20 priz purples from Nm A2 & 3 staff sellers on classic, get 2 sock on that and man, talk about res... Let alone if you end up scoring a troll, then your set for sure!

I'm not. Not having any luck with items. I've found some useful gear, but I want the elite stuff. I have doubled my pit runs.
On a side note: I found a ARToQ(3 soc/40ias claw) yesterday. Yessssssssss. BearSin time!!

have yet to level up my druid but i've been shopping for shields with no luck haha. Anyone have a certain NPC they shield shop with?
IF you can, get a keyset and make a portal at Hell Larzuk. Pop in and out to check his stuff.
As for shields, Hell Anya is good for grims and trolls and she has Nith's portal as well.

yeah, same here, no luck with items! commin from east is hard cus well, elite blues dont drop in norm for a lvl 1 wolf so leveling two chars instead of just one for some of you, or just swapping out godlies for elites for some of you more fortunate people.... :P
i have shopped and found every one of my blue items so far. ive shopped a few nice wweapns from anya and larzuk and some nice armos and what not from the other act 5 npc. act 5 is nice place for shopping.
not if your under lvl 80! lol soon enough.
