Facet jewels + mages

I tried searching and didn't find much on this. I was wondering if mages benefit from you socketing your gear with facet jewels. I have a couple psn and fire that I could use.

Doesn't seem like it would, but it would be cool if that actually worked.

minions don't benefit from facet. Sad but true. Conviction works, and so does lower resist, though that might be overkill.

Nope, all -resists and +dmg gear on yourself and a merc that isnt an aura effecting monsters (conviction) will effect you and only yourself. So your poor mages are left out in the dark...
