View Full Version : All my gear is gone!!!
Yesterday I logged off and there was no lag. This afternoon I logged on again and my AP Enigma, Stormshield, Shako, Hoto, and Cta were gone! Half of these items were split onto a different account, too. I have no idea how this happened because I had those items for at least a month so they weren't dupes...
Please help!

Someone has access to your account. That's the only way to explain it..

Sorry, I meant character. Two characters on one account lost all their items and now lay there with nothing on.

I don't remember going to any sites to get infected with a keylogger. I only go to Arreat Summit and Diabloii.net
is your d2.net password the same as your bnet account password?
its good to have them different, your d2.net password isnt as secure as it should be
They were the same, but I changed it just now. I haven't typed in my password on diabloii.net for at least 2 weeks so I don't know how I would be hacked just now.

yeah see thats ur problem. ITs always best to have diff passwords. My friend once had same passwords on runescape as on forums for it, and do to password leak his account got blocked. Luckilly no one could hack into it, but he couldn't get it unlocked. However, after a few days he managed to get it back and started playing. This is the reason why i never have the same pass on any forums as on the game i play. ITs never safe..
What do you suggest I do to get more items/hrs back? Any good MF spots?
keep running nm andy/meph, or run hell a1 pits, or a5 abadon/pits if you can

Are there a lot of fire immunes in the Act 5 pits?
in nm, sometimes
hell, yes, some fire, light, cold, physical and a few poison no more than 3immunities on each unique tho

this happened to me either on Dec 18-19-20, although I was left with a soj, highlords, a dual 5/6 leech prizzy ring , 2 double isted babas, blood raven +4 151 dmg bow, and two ravenfrosts.. seems weird my shako, occy, 2 other sojs, travs, tgods, and runewords were all missing. I recall trading for those items too... so could have been duped... but my barb had two items that were on another char on him and something from the inven was on him as well.
Going to format and reinstall... I don't trust that they only hacked my pw and I don't have a keylogger layin dormant ... and I am on a Mac ... werid 10 digit numerical/letter pw hacked .. hrrm
Love to still play but afraid that this may happen again, once I can live with but twice? Don't think so
It seems like a lot of people have been hacked recently. I've heard a lot of losses on West as well...

Ah, I remember giving my email addie to kid a few weeks ago... fluent in c++ and perl , as I used to be... was what brought up our friendly discussion... so maybe it lies there... whatever, items are only pixels but dayum...still kinda blows... in a small way

I had a similar experience. I was playing my lvl 89 wind druid doin mf runs. In SOLO games. I use no programs whatsoever! When i logged back in this morning, my perfect maras was gone. It was no dupe because I found it myself back this summer. it was the only item missing. Could this be due to the serious lag issues, and the failed to make and join games we've been experiencing?

I am up in the air on this one... have no clue how I could have been hacked. I understand security and protection... I run OS X and I run a firewall. My passwords are all different and are at least 10+ digits alpha/num... so if you got hacked you deserve it is BS in my book... same as if a woman wears a short skirt and bra in public deserves to be raped...
As for the lag/failed issues... could be flooding the servers with scans... who knows...Bnet and Blizz never have given a sh*t about enforcing punishment with hacking...

are you saying you muled the items from character to another, then the next day they weren't on the new character?
cause that would just be a rollback. during a server rollback, if you TRADED the items through the trade window, they will still be there on the old character. or if you traded them to a friend and had him hand them too you, they'll still be on the friend.
however if you drop them on the ground, then pick them up with another character, they'll disappear.

If this is in reference to my post ... Ok my barb had his questin gear on (botd blade, arreats, etc) havent played him in a few days as I started a new char... yesterday logged on and noticed most of my characters were missing their top equipment. My barb instead of his usual outfit had heart carver and lidless wall equiped , and they left on him his dual leech 5/6 prismatic ring with 10str..weird which leads me to believe some noob hacker took the known awesome equips (arreats, botd, runewords) ... even left me a soj (I found my soj and two others were given to me from a friend who no longer plays)...Still befuddled but looking forward to creating a new account ... half the fun
