Fire Bear PvM?

All the guides i have looked at say FireClaw WereBears rock at PvP as it can't be blocked etc but is the build at all advantageous in PvM? I have an Aldurs Set gathering dust on mules and would it be any good for this build?

I doubt that it would be that effective in PVM due to the masive amounts of fire immunes in Hell, but if you have an infinity merc with you, it would be certainly doable. I personally wouldnt recomment Aldurs, due to the lack of IAS on the set, I feel that a 6os Pb (or the famous JPboQ) with shaels in it would be a better alternate (though i guess you could use the rest of the set), as it gives you a 4 frame attack speed in Bear form, letting you wipe out crowds very fast, and it isnt that expensive. Is the Attack Speed of FireClaws only affected by weapon IAS then? If i stuck IAS jewels in the helm, weapon, and socketed the armour would it not be worth it?

The only thing really to talk about in that set is the boots, which have 40% R/W, life and good stuff.

I don't fancy the armor not the helmet. Weapon has sockets, but still, I'ts not the fastest out there.

If you're going the FC bear route, you can't get around a Robo Phase Blade. (110% IAS PB)

If you get Jalal's on top of this, you'll be way better equiped than you would be, using the complete set, IMO. No, really, not IMO - as a matter of fact.
Of course provided that you have decent alternatives for the armor, that is.


Also, bearform IAS is greatly affected by WSM, less by WIAS and even less by SIAS and OIAS (yes, you can get speed increase from IAS on gear, but only at slow speeds, though). Bear speed IS affected by all types of IAS. If you want the full story, I can tell you, but it's all in the calculator in the sticky thread.

Basically, if you have a fast attack, IAS outside the weapon will do you no good, which is why you shouldn't bother.

i pated a FC bear last night on SP
maxed rez in hell. with gear jalal socketed ( unused), Duress ( CB OW and cold damage for fire imunes), arachids ( OW), gore rider (CB OW) Raven 20 dex and another ring with mana leech, amulet mara 30 (for bneters a +3 to shapeshift as resists are easier to get), 3x shape skillers and a robo phase blade.

liked him a lot. in hell at 69 and leveled him in P8 mausoleum (no fire imunes) runs until 84.
i have choosed the damage path with insane FC damage. The CB and OW and my cold rogue helped a lot in fighting fire imunes
