ok, so I'm starting a hardcore career, and i was thinking of starting with a darkmancer. i fist tought LoM would be a good idea, but the guide said it isn't great... I was thinking of a build like:
20 DV
20 Psn dagger
20 psn nova
20 psn explosion

leaving me with around 20 skill points left.
So would 20 mages be usefull to kill psn immunes, if i don't have skelly mastery?

PS: if someone would say I should try a diffrent darkmancer build, please say, however i do not want to play a fishy, cause I don't really like them...

One point in Skeleton Mastery is actually as good as 2 points in Skeleton Mages in terms of Mage damage (so "Summon Mage" really only contributes 33% of the mage damage). As a result, you'd probably be better off going with a 10/10 build, or possibly even a 20 Mastery/1 Magi and then relying on +skills to get you a small army.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend bothering with Magi unless you had 40 points to spend. They're weak enough maxed with max Mastery- once you start skimping on skill points, they really lose whatever little killing power they once had. I'd recommend, instead, that you spend those skill points elsewhere. There's nothing really pressing that you need, but there are a couple of good ways to spend those skill points. You could boost your Decrep or Attract to crank the duration up. You could get yourself a Fire Golem (which is the poisonmancer's best friend, IMO- never spend more than 1 point in golem itself, just use a slvl 1 Fire Golem and spend excess points in Golem Mastery, instead). You could max Skeleton Mastery and put a point in Revives and use them as tanks and supplemental damage. Lots of choices.

if this is pvm..you could get some skeles...maybe 10/10...that will help greatly...

er thats skele warriors...

1 pt into revives too
1 pt in to clay golem and
1 pt into golem mastery
1 into summon res

this should be pretty nice with + skill gear

assuming you're lvl 90 you should have a few more skill pts to allocate...90 +12...so around 102...that should be plenty to work with...
