View Full Version : Hammerdin vs Necromancer/Amazon
Hey guys there can you give me some tips on Hammerdin how to pvp with Necromancer ? I always lose to my friend's Necromancer .. my Hammer doesn't seems to hit him .. the same goes to his Amazon .. he ran to far and my Hammer can't do anything at all ..
This is just how I duel some weaker necros -
I swap hoto for grief pb, and use 2 ravens.
Do your usual charging about spamming hammers, if they hit they hit, if not - dont worry too much. Every now and then, look for an opening to get a name lock and just charge them to death.
Eventually he'll try to prison spam you, then just tele ontop and hammer him to death.
Honestly I am a noob and I do not understand ur answer too much ...
Hoto/Grief pb/Ravens are all equipments right ?
What does name lock means .. How can I do that ?
Teleporting ontop of him ? How to do so ?
I read the Max Dmg Hammerdin guide and decided to follow it but then the STR the writer recommend will not be enough to wear Enigma for Teleporting ..(89 STR enough ? ) .. Teleport very essential for Hammerdin ?

Uhh why 2 ravens? Spirits / Spears don't freeze you, CBF does not counter gumby's slow, and AR is not needed against bonemancers. Never tried grief charging a boner, never felt the need to. Might work out well.
Defensive boners are very hard to kill for a pure hdin. Thats why you make a mage fool! Tele around until he gets in your screen, and delay namelock tele him or just namelock tele, you'll most likely get the same effect anyways those damn boners flee ASAP once they're in range. Works similar with Windies except that its much easier with them.
Only desynch hammer against those foolish enough to chase you or you are really really really good at desynch + final tele hammer + desynch out.
Sorry, forgot about the zon. I assume bower? Either get a grief and smite her, or like I said if you can desynch really good all you need is a good telejump hammerspam.
That means Enigma is really important for Hammerdin ? So whats the least STR to wear Enigma ?

I wear 2 ravens for ar and dex.
And you can pretty much charge smite most casters on a hammerdin, grief + base lvl1 smite,charge,fanat are very strong.
Please answer my question instead of arguing around.

Charge around doing desynch hammers then tele on him with oak when you think he's not expecting it. Remember you need oak to tele on him if he knows what he's doing at all or you'll die. Use desynch charge more and hope he makes a mistake when you are really low on life. Also you can try nling him with conc then do a surprise multi-screen hop on him. Chain locking on hammerdin is not easy to pull off and isn't particularly effective either so you are better off doing the thing i mentioned.

mages are nothing but hammerdin light against anyone prepared. That's why they are only good against weak pubs or whent hey are in teams and are used mostly by people who can't play a hammerdins properly. Aslo you make yourself easy target for tele spear hop when you are fohing.

50str for Enigma in breastplate. 55 str to use Enigma in mageplate, which adds quite a bit more armor. Duskshroud(77 str) and archon plate(103 str) is also an option, and a perfect archon plate Enigma sells for quite a bit.
But yes, i wouldn't play a pure hammerdin in PvP without using Enigma, or at least an item with tele charges(If you're poor, but got alot of gold).
To namelock someone, move your mouse above them, and hold down left or right mouse button, depending on which skill you use.

You'll want base str, bp nigma or better torch/anni.

You can also use another nigma instead of bp that are pretty low in str. i mean ya tele is important but desyncing is eveen better . u can use fort and jus charge em out using griefZ or pb wutever u like + Fortitude can giv u lots of dmg. Mind u when u use grief u cant see the physical dmg on in the character screen cus when u make a grief the wep dmg goes away and the mod dmg takes over 350-400 which makes it very useful

30 strength for breastplate, not 50. Light plates are also an option, 41 I beleive?
Dusk shrouds and archon plates are a tough call, as you start getting into that area where you have to invest strength to wear the enigma... usually a bad idea, unless you're wearing shadow dancers/upped gores/crown of ages, where you'd have to add anyway.
